Mixed Bag

The good: great location. Prompt and efficient maid service. Superior room was good size. The bad: Needed a couple of tries with maintenance personnel (who were willing and helpful) to get room warm. Two comfortable armchairs but no reading light for either. The ugly: Mouse in dining room. And where else?

Major Grand Prix Weekend Rip Off

For $350 per night (4 nights) a 4 star hotel, really?. Had a room on the 15th floor with a "view". Old small tube style TV, No microwave, no fridge, old beds, rocking toilet bowl, slow draining bath tub, mulfunctioning shower head, water hammer noise at random times. Nice view was obscured by dirty windows. Only saving grace was the location down town 2 minutes from the metro.

Only a 1 Star

Noisy! You can hear the water run through the walls to the point that it sounds like a 4-alarm fire warning as you wake up in the morning. Shocking. The hotel could not move my room as they had the same issue everywhere. Room service- forget it, they don't even call back to take your order. However, many places outside the hotel to eat that you can walk to. Otherwise great location.

Not so great!!!

While the hotel was in prime location with close proximity to the local attractions I would never rate this as a 4 Star hotel at best it is a 2 Star not only was the hotel VERY!!! dated some of the staff member seemed to be less interested in helping however, there were some that really went out of their way to accomodate. The concierge in particular was pathetic every time we entered the hotel his head was barried in the computer with no one in front requesting service. Needles to say this will be the last time that I stay at this hotel and stray away from my normal chain such as Marriott, Hyatt.

good location but poor staff

Very poor and unfriendly staff. Hotel is surely at a good location well connected into a metro/subway station. I had late check-in at 6-7pm where after losing more than a hour or time staff was reluctant to be accommodating with a kid and expectant wife. Never plan to book again with this chain of hotels.

Not Superior, but shabby

First the positives -Generally good service and staff (though see below), reasonably clean. But... 1. Equipment: TV, coffee maker clock-radio, etc..old and worn. The internet TV was confusing (no channel guide, and poor picture quality made it impossible to even find the time). Phone refused to allow an outside call (yes, I followed instructions). Finally called front desk (twice) for help and was put on hold then disconnected after 5-10 minutes. 2. Food: Bad. The breakfast buffet was not 4-star, more like what you'd get at a low end greasy spoon - runny eggs, bland coffee, slimy bacon, stale croissants unworthy of Montreal, etc... It wasn't cheap either - 20$ after tip for one person! Do not recommend. 3. Pool -kind of small & too shallow on the ends to do laps. Seemed crowded with only 3 others in the water. 4. Noise - Hearing a neighbor drain the lizard is definitely not ok. 5. Area - close to UQAM, the Gay Village, and St. Denis, which is all cool, but the big park next door has the ambiance of a refugee camp. Lots of sketchy characters hanging around who might harass you.

meh

Booked for a king/queen room, was given a room with a double. Didn't get a breakfast voucher for whatever reason, so we got charged for an overpriced buffet. Room was fine if slightly shabby (if it were MY hotel? I'd probably toss the bath towel that came back from the laundry room half covered in yellow stains). Not nearly commensurate with what we paid though. Next.

Very Good Centrally Located Hotel in the Heart of Montreal

The hotel is in a great location, within a block of Montreal's extensive subway system. There are many restaurants, at various price ranges, within easy walking distance from the hotel. I also liked the fact that you did not hear the hotel staff vacuuming the hallways early in the morning which allowed you to sleep late. The only major issues I had with the hotel was that the sauna and the pool desperately needed upgrading.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Use the extensive Montreal metro system to virtually go anywhere in the city -- there really is no need to rent a car.
