Great Hotel
This was my second stay at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth. I was very satisfied. The staff is pleasant and courteous and the room/bathroom was large and clean. If you join their President's Club (membership is free - ask to join) you get free in room wifi and free local telephone calls. The in room wifi was great - I was able to stream Netflix movies. Also, the hotel is centrally located downtown in the business district. There is a mall underneath directly accessible from the hotel with lots of choices for food and shopping. This is especially important if you are there in the winter. The only minor gripe that I have is that the mini fridge in the room is small and loaded with hotel drinks. I had to remove these drinks in order to make room for my own drinks and food and then had to put everything back before checking out. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Great stay
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The room was very comfortable. The phone device had to be changed as it was not charging. The location was perfect and so was the breakfast. The station below is very convenient. The room interior was all new and fresh. I have stayed at various hotels in the same price range, and this was the best. Not to forget their 3rd night off. I plan to sign up for a free president club membership for future upgrades. Hope this was helpful.

adequate at fairmont
good enough
If I were expecting a 3-star hotel, maybe I'd have been more impressed, but I was expecting better. I paid extra for the "renovated" room. However, there was a crack in the paint, the wallpaper was a little bit dirty in spots, and the bathroom did not look renovated to me at all. The electrical sockets in the bathroom, for instance, had old, caked on dirt in the crevices. The paint around the doorframes was old and dirty-looking, and there was a crack in the middle of the mirror that it looked like they had covered with a blank electrical cover plate. The bathroom was very small, with hardly any space to put your toiletries, and the toilet was very old-school - the kind with the long metal flush lever that protrudes from the side, like they have in public schools and airports. On the other hand, the carpet looked new, the furniture and beds were very new and pleasant-looking, and the beds were comfortable. The staff was very hospitable, and the lady who checked me in even escorted me to the elevators. The doormen were hit or miss -- most of the time, they didn't open the door for me, but a couple times they did.

Repeat Visitor
I first stayed at the Queen E 3 years ago and it has become my automatic selection every time I visit Montreal. I stay on the Fairmont Gold club floor and the personal attention from the staff and the club amenities are well worth the additional cost. Location is ideal and I can easily walk to many downtown business appointments.

All Montreal in wolking distance
We were in a business trip. So we have no time to enjoy the hotel facilities such as pool etc. Rooms and interiors were nice, clean, and well maintained. Overall service was fine. Concierge service was extremely friendly and helpful. There was a lot of delicious food in the restaurant. The hotel has prime location in the very centre of Montreal so if we have a spare time it is walking distance to almost everything: old city, restaurants, concert places, Rue Ste Catharine etc. There were a few strange extra charges that may be easily avoided: internet access ($15 per day but free in Starbucks across street), bottle of water from minibar for $8.5 (but $1.59 per dozen bottles in the nearest pharmacy) etc. No free robe/slippers, or either breakfast was included in sale price that we had. I can't say if it was regular practice or just for rooms for sale.

Convenient access to underground
The hotel has extremely convenient access to the metro, Gare Centrale and RESO. It beats walking in the rain or calling a cab. The room was very meticulously cleaned and cared for. The staff was helpful with questions the questions I had. My only (minor) complaint was that sometimes neighbors could be rather noisy in transit through the hallway and the doors weren't quite enough of a shield. Not a big deal.

Great stay in Montreal
This is a great place to stay in a fun city. The NHL entry draft was going on the same time we were there and the staff seemed to feed off the energy. All questions were answered quickly and efficiently. I would strongly recommend this property.

Just a great hotel
This is my usual Montreal hotel, and it's a lovely example of a what an upscale city hotel should be. Connected to both the train station and the Underground City, it's an easy walk to get to Ste. Catherine Street as well. Rooms are clean, quiet and well furnished with great views of the surrounding city and the Cathedrale Marie Reine-du-Monde. Good, if somewhat expensive, restaurants on site. I tend to take the elevator downstairs to the great food court at the train station for less expensive options. The garage on site also means you don't have to worry about on-street parking. Friendly staff too. A lovely hotel, and I'll most certainly return.

Take the elevator downstairs to the train station for some surprisingly good food court options as well as stores that specialize in wine, chocolates and interesting foods.
