DUMP

Room reeked of smoke - ashtray on table. Shower either hot or cold. Windows filthy and moldy. Our room had a balcony - view of a deserted pool - rotten boards and garbage - parking garage scary - afraid of rats.

Horrible!Old,dirty,smelly,bumpy rug.

Delta doesn't grant requests when done with [...] such as non-smoking rooms. We were given a smelly room with very dirty ceilings, dirty and bumpy rugs, and their excuse was "we are remodeling", but they charge full price.I guess they want [...] customers but they will treat them poorly. They care about money but not customer service. I would NEVER recommend them.

What a Dump!

We booked a premium room, (which is supposed to be better than the standard rooms) with a balcony and a king bed. Not only was there not a balcony, but the bed was considerably small- and was a murphy bed that came out of the wall! After asking to change rooms, we found out from the lone bellman (who doubles as valet and concierge) that most folks who are assigned our room, usually change. Our new room was shabbily furnished, with cigarette-burned carpeting, chipped lamps and outdated fixtures, and was not nearly the clean and spacious room advertised. The balcony in our new room was small and filthy- no seating and no screen door (that we were advised to keep closed in order to keep insects out). Although the staff was kind and polite, they were completely unable to help us in any way. We originally booked the room for a 3-night stay and, had another hotel been available our first evening, we would have left the first evening that we arrived. Instead, within hours, we luckily booked the Omni Mont Royal (which was lovely) for the remainder of our trip. It was a horrible experience, and we couldn't wait to get out of there..

Brutal

There was glass on the floor in the entrance way of the room. The carpet was old & weathered. There was garbage in the waste container in the washroom. There was a real sense that the room was unclean. Brutal.

disappointing

This was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but when we arrived, the room smelled of stale smoke. There was a great big wet spot on the carpet, which contributed a horrendous mildew stench that got worse hourly. Disgusting.

Location isn't everything

The Delta Montreal is footsteps from The Jazz Festival. Plus new hotels are being built as we speak in the neighborhood, making it harder for this once great hotel to compete. Great staff can only do so much.

front desk staff unprofessional

The rooms are clean and location good. Unfortunately the front desk staff is unprofessional. At check in I had to change the room twice in order to have internet working. And the worst, they bill customers based on their own assumptions and not on services needed and really used by customers. When trying to solve the billing issues generated by them they are not willing to help.

2 star service for the price of 4 star

Of my recent trips to Montreal, I have to say that this was the worst hotel experience. We arrived late in the evening after a day of driving. The hotel said that our non-smoking reservation from Orbitz was actually smoking. They had no non-smoking rooms and they could not upgrade. So they downgraded us to a room. We negotiated for free breakfast and eventually free parking but it took a few times, only after we talked to the manager. They also said that there is no guarantee on non-smoking if you book with Orbitz. This comment was not consistent with my experience with Orbitz. I was disappointed.

Definitely not 4 star more like 2 star

The hotel did not leave to expectations it was definitely not a 4 star as claimed. Coffee percolator, mugs and glasses looked had they are not being properly cleaned, they well full of grime, stains etc. Although we booked and paid for 4 , they only provided toiletries, towels etc for 2. They room is very small, musty and the carpet is bunching. The lobby is very nice but the rooms do not compare .
