Beautiful Hotel in the Arts District

Even though the temperature during my visit was well below record freezing, the C. Versailles had the warmest ambiance and comfortable interior. The reception desk, valet and bellman assistance, the chambermaids were all most informative and helpful. The breakfast room is beautiful as was my front bedroom with electric fireplace. This Hotel is well positioned for nearby and more distant excursions. Several of Montreal's best Museums are within walking distance, and the nearest Metro Station is only a short 2 blocks away. Restaurants are everywhere!

Exception front desk/concierge staff, but...

Guess where to park to check-in. No elevator (would be difficult for handicapped or elderly persons or those carrying their own suitcases). No pool, yes sauna and small workout room. Breakfast, average. Rooms small no ultra comfort for a 4 star. Shower difficult to control temp--way too hot or too cold. 4th floor noisy from street traffic. Early check out (12 noon) with no option for extended hour.

La Vie du Château

Walkable from the central bus station, but I was happy to be greeted by a charming doorman who took my bag up those carpeted steps! The staff and the comfort of the Château were more than welcoming, setting me up for the following day's sightseeing, for which the hotel is well located. However, it is not especially near Vieux Montreal; best for visiting the great museums and McGill. All fine for the single woman traveler, too. P.S. appeared to have no lift/elevator

Good for being downtown

Very close to the city and in walking distance of just about everything montreal has to offer. The only part that you really have to take a car or bus to would be old montreal but the location is great and the staff is excellent in the hotel.

Just a wonderful hotel

Wonderful Hotel! The staff are wonderful and are bilingual. Extremely helpful on explaining where to get to places in the city. Great breakfast as well. VERY CLEAN!! Great room decor, wonderful Frette' robes for you to use. You feel like you are staying in a large mansion, very Elegant. The Guy Concordia Subway station is just a block down the street off St. Mathieu (great location). The Museum of Fine Arts is just 2 blocks east of the Hotel. I give this a 4.5 star! However, there are no elevators so if you are someone that cannot use stairs then this hotel is not for you. The gym needs some attention. The bike seat will not go up or down therefore, is of no use. The gym was VERY clean like the rest of this great hotel!! I plan to stay there again the next time I visit Montreal.
