enjoyed our stay

We were warmly welcomed when we arrived at nearly 10pm at night. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio/deck in the morning enjoying the sunshine.

Not What We Expected!!!

My 11 year old daughter and I stayed there for a few days, but I wish I had known better. The room was small, but at least had a private bathroom, which is better than a shared one. Problem is, it seems that it hadn't been dusted off in years and they tried to cover unfinished paint jobs with conspicuously located paintings on the walls, which I found hilarious. The breakfast is actually ok, just nothing remarkable. I guess you get what you paid for. Watching the fireworks from the terrace is actually the only nice thing about this place. Location is definitely secluded and away from major sites. You have to hop on bus # 34 to get to the nearest metro, or walk 25 min through a very nasty and dark section of town to get to it. When I commented on the non-centralized location to one of the owners, he replied "what do you expect if you didn't bring a car?" I found that very rude. I repeatedly asked him if he could please print me the bus schedule to have it handy, and he, matter-of-factly, told me the schedule was already printed and posted by the entrance, to "go take a look yourself." His wife is the complete opposite; she overheard the conversation, brought me back into the office and printed me the begged-for schedule. She also spent her time explaining ways I could move around to get to see the most important sites, which I found very nice. I mean, she even provided me with extra snacks for my daughter, I guess to compensate for her husband's rudeness? But the damage was done and I really do prefer to be within walking distance to the major sites, even if that means paying more. I ended booking somewhere else in downtown, losing one night in the process. As other reviewers have mentioned, they don't give you a refund even if you try to cancel or change the booking. Whatever! I just really wanted to get the heck out of that deceiving and disappointing place. I ended booking a very nice and affordable hotel right next to Place Des Arts during the jazz festival. It was Amazing! Everything was within walking distance; the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. So nice, they even upgraded my room to a bigger one with a kitchenette, without asking or extra charge. That is when my daughter and I really started enjoying our stay in Montreal! Unless you bring a car or prefer spending lots of time hoping on buses to get to the metro, I really can't recommend this hotel.

Place I will return soon

We stayed in this hotel for just a night, and the service was just amazing. The owner was very supportive in providing any information. The metro station was just a walk away. I already suggested this hotel to my friends, and will return here for another stay for sure.

Don't waste your time.

If you are going there after September till May, bring your own electric heater. Location, is to closest metro about 10-15 min. Rooms are too small. You have to share bathrooms and showers. I don't think they clean the blankets and the rest. Just be careful w/this "HOTEL". I do not know who gave them 3 stars.

Convenient for a short stay

We had rush trip to montreal and needed to get the cheapest room near centre-ville. The building is old and it feels like a hostel more than a hotel, but it worked well. It offered everything they said and more. We had a shared bathroom room, and showers were clean and had adequate water pressure. The staff was more than welcoming and good natured. We found wifi in the lobby only, with speed that wasn't that fast but was enough.

Very good experience! Will definitely come back!

Me and my husband had great time in Montreal for a long weekend. We enjoyed our stay in Auberge Manoir Hotel! First of all, wanted to mention the remarkable service by Hotel crue! Everyone was super nice and helpful! Should we have any question regarding city attractions, parking, driving directions - the receptionist was more than welcome to give us a reasonable piece of advise! The Hotel offered free breakfast, parking, internet. We could use the kitchen facility at any time during our stay. The Hotel is located in a nice quiet neighborhood of Montreal. Driving to the center of the city by car took us about 15 minutes. 25 min to the Int Airport. Subway station is also pretty close. We had a room with private bathroom. Our room was clean and quiet, had fridge and TV. You can find coffee machine, cattle, bigger fridge in the Hotel Kitchen which is open for 24 hours. So we enjoyed a cup of hot tea after busy day in the city! We recommend this Hotel to ones who travel on a budget. Very good experience!

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

It's hard to find free parking in Montreal. The signes are confusing. We came up with the idea that private parking of $8-10 is more reasonable than taking chances with free street park and muni-meters.
