Upon our check-in we were greeted by a friendly staff member. For myself my husband and my two children this was going to be our home for three days. We were told that our room was not ready but that there were there was a different one that was
available. We were told it was a new building as it was only 5 years old and had a great view. When we arrived into our. One bedroom condo it was very dark and you could barely see. We noticed that the kitchen cabinets counters bathroom counters and carpeting all looked at least 20 years old. The furniture had a musty smell to it. And the one bedroom we did have had only one lamp and had no other lights so it was very difficult to see even during the middle of the day. The TV in this bedroom was barely a 13 inch TV! I wasn't expecting a big screen but this was a little ridiculous. The view however was beautiful. There was also a fireplace but unfortunately there was no wood anywhere. We had to go out to go shopping anyway and had to pay about 40 bucks for a couple of bags of firewood to burn during our stay. We found out about the shuttle that ran from our resort to the mountain to go skiing. We were excited about taking it on our first day of skiing so that we would not have to worry about parking our rental car over at the mountain. It left promptly on time. But when we were done skiing at the end of the day, it was over 30 minutes late in the freezing cold waiting. We had asked another bus driver from a different resort to see if he could call for someone to come pick us up. We were then told that the bus was on its way but there were over 20 people standing outside waiting for this last bus by this point. We were all very unhappy with how the bus schedule was running that day. Another guest had told us while waiting that this exact situation happened the day before as well. When it was time for us to check out we went to the front and were told that we had to return all of our keys or be charged a fee. For the pool key it was an actual metal key and that I did return and I did have but the other plastic key cards I left in the room and they told me I had to go back and get them and turn them in before I could leave. When we left it had started to snow the night before and a lot of snow had accumulated on the property. Please note that this property is at the top of a very steep entryway and hill. If it's in the middle of December and you were trying to get out of there without snow tires good luck. They don't clear the streets and we had a very difficult time getting out of the property as we almost slid all the way down this incredibly long hill. We felt we got a good deal on the resort but it was about 5 miles away from the mountain. Just be advised that these units are not as pictured on the website as they are much older in person. And that the resort is set upon a pretty high Hill so make sure if you're going with snow that you have the proper tires to get in and out.
Unfortunately we were only at Cap Tremblant for a weekend but we would have loved to stay longer. Our children (14,12 & 9) all had a great time at the pool and in the hot tub across the way. Although the pool is small it has a great slide and the
temperature was perfect! The Tremblant area is beautiful and we all appreciated the quaintness of the town itself. The kids
LOVED the Alpine sledding and other things to do in town. We will definitely come in the future and stay at Cap Tremblant again!
