Great hotel, bad location
The hotel is very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you're looking to stay in Laval I would recommend it. My boyfriend and I were looking to experience Montreal and it was too far from anything we wanted to see so we ended up switching to another hotel. They staff was very accomidating.

Great Hotel.Clean!!! with friendly staff
Really nice hotel. Super clean, quite with a friendly staff!!!! Price was reasonable and at [...] was the best.The exterior of the hotel looks like a castle. Parking is free and situated in a safe area!!! Breakfeast was included, not anything elaberate, simple buy, good. Highly recommend!!!

Clean, comfortable, upscale
We enjoyed our stay at Le St. Martin. We were allowed to check in early (around 12) which was nice after a long drive. I definitely wouldn't say the customer service was great... it wasn't awful, but we didn't encounter any staff members that were particularly friendly. The room was plenty spacious and comfortable. I will say that it was worth staying outside of the city because hotels in Montreal at this price point were a little seedy. We drove to the metro (parking is free) and used that to go into the city, as the metro was safe, clean, and easy to use. We were surprised at how little English people spoke around Laval though. We were sort of snubbed at a few places we went for not speaking any French. But, back to the hotel... the breakfast was pretty good. The variety was just fine, though the coffee was kind of gross. There is a Keurig coffee maker in the room with 2 complimentary cups of coffee. There were cute touches around the hotel, like candy at the desk at night, and during the day they put out a basket of apples for guests. If we find ourselves in the Montreal area again, we would definitely stay at Le St. Martin. If staying in a reasonably priced, very clean and modern hotel is important to you, this is your place. It's worth the short drive to the metro and a 10-15 minute train ride. Plus, you get to bypass all of the city traffic. And by staying in Laval you're able to explore another town in Canada.

If you're looking for an inexpensive, very delicious lunch, try La Popessa (it's a chain and there's one in Laval and at least one in Montreal). It's this great pasta bar with a huge menu of sauces and pastas to choose from. You tell them what your combo is, and they make it right in front of you with fresh ingredients. My husband and I agreed it was our favorite meal of the whole trip, and it cost us about $12. Also, avoid Harvey's... both the hamburgers and chicken sandwiches were disgusting.

Amazing stay! the Staff were friendly, the room was gorgeous and well appointed with the right amenties. the only con for me was lack of a safe being available to guests. The breafast was delicious as well.

30th anniversary traveling couple
great stay
great visit in old Montreal. Had a wonderful meal on St. Arthur St. Missed the fireworks that go off every Saturday evening because we loss track of time and the traffic was to heavy to go the mile away. Walking was iffy as it was all down hill and drizzling. The hotel was great. Good breakfast. The only thing we didn't like was the internet was not free as advertized, but you do get 30min free if you pay for some use... I don't consider that free...
