Superb Hotel
My wife is a model who frequently get works out of montreal, and we like to travel together, so when she goes for work I bring along my laptop and we make a trip of it. Our favorite hotel, located in centre-ville montreal, closed down, so we were forced to find new accomodations. We usually stay for quite a while, so we look for something affordable (our old hotel was typically the lowest rate in montreal). We finally found the Hampton Inn and Suites in Laval, about 25 minutes outside downtown montreal. It is priced very competitively with hotels surrounding it and in montreal proper. The hotel has big, clean rooms, with a nice, high-pressure showerhead. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and the desk is manned late into the night. They have a very, very nice pool, though the fitness center is limited (no weights!) to one bike and one treadmill. A huge bonus with this hotel is that they serve free, hot breakfast every morning until 10. It's a real, edible, delicious breakfast too - not the stale bagle and muffin affair you find at most hotels. There are real eggs and real sausage and yogurt, and a waffle maker, and so on. If you are a breakfast person, you can eat a good solid meal there, which to my mind shaves a good $10-15 dollars off the total bill, value-wise. We traveled with our 5-month old great dane puppy (completely housebroken lol), and we were so happy to find out that this hotel was dog friendly. They have a large amount of isolated grass for the dog to run on. All in all, this hotel is a great place to stay for a traveler on a budget who still wants a quality place to stay. There is no spa or in-hotel restaurant, but it has all the basics in spades. If that sounds good to you, I highly recommend this hotel.

I'll stay here again when I come back
Over all good experience, nice to be back at a hampton inn. Love free internet, but the service was a bit slow. Need better corporate rates.
