good price, with some compromises

The walls are thin. Music from outside (a block away) made it hard to sleep. Bathroom sink is big enough just for washing 1 hand at a time. Very cramped. Excellent amenities. Clean. Service desk had "Back in 15 min" sign up for over 1 hour, without returning to the desk. But, they do respond to questions via email. Good price... but with compromises.

Better than sleeping outside.....

When we arrived, the young lady at the desk located in the office next door was very helpful. The room was modest but clean. The mattresses were not very comfortable, but we were accepting of these conditions because the room was so inexpensive. However that evening, it was very difficult to sleep due to the fact that the air conditioning (central to entire bulikding and not controlable in indicidual suites) was not working and that the very old windows provided virtually no sound barrier between the room and noisy city street. I told the front desk girl about the temperature and she informed me that they were experiencing trouble with the air conditioning, but that it was being worked on and should be fixed by that evening. We were out in the city all day and when we got home around 10 or 11, the room felt very warm. We decided to talk to managment and had to hold the windows open with cutting boards in the meantime. Nobody was in the office, so we called the number provided, which is apparently a cell phone.. The first time we called, there was no answer. The second time a man answered. I explained the situation and asked to switch rooms. There were two on our floor and side of the hall wtih window units. He said they were full, even though we never saw or heard anything from those rooms. I asked about at least getting a fan and/or a discount. He said he'd be out there at ten the next day and assess how bad the tempurature was. Well, he did not show up at 10. In fact, when I went to turn in my key at 11, I had to wait a bit for him to run up late to open the office. He never apologized or offered to remedy the situation. I would only recommend this room in an emergency situation or if you are a college student who wants something a step above a hostile or a campground.
