Comfortable room, clean, friendly staff. Wasn't thrilled about the false midnight fire alarm, but that'll happen in the best of places and it was resolved fairly quickly. Hard to find a meal after hours. $14 for internet access -- review your invoice before check out as you may get charged for internet access you never ordered. Above an underground mall and next door to a grocery store, so well located. Overall, I recommend it for the business traveller.

Hotel was very nice.

The hotel was very nice. Convenient to a metro stop as it sits on top of it and you can walk through the lobby to get to it. Also, next door is a real handy gourmet market. Marriott's square pillows though are very hard to sleep on, and only a small pillow was provided with it.

Great location

This was our first time staying anywhere near the Yorkville area of town and we were here on a mix of business and pleasure. This hotel was in a great location for both. Otherwise, the fact that they at first couldn't find us a room despite prepaying over a month in advance was quite off-putting. They did find one, though. And staff were helpful and courteous.

Great location

Location was very good as had immediate access to subway from within building and also many good restaurants within walking distance. Very, very attentive staff but not overbearing. Also connected to grocery, food court, shopping and pharmacy within building. Internet connectivity was ok but daily charge ~$14. Complimentary fitness center, parking is valet for $25/day

Not great - served its purpose, little more

hotel stay was fine, location is great. we weren't in the hotel much over the weekend but the fire alarm went off twice in a 1.5 day period, both false alarms, both times we were in the room, so could have happened other times as well. safety is important but might be worth the hotel updating the systems- as i assume this is a regular occurrence- so they don't go off constantly causing worry and inconvenience, or at least make an announcement on the PA to that effect. room service trays seemed to remain outside one of our neighboring rooms for a day, and a couple of beer cans were strewn throughout the hallway, and one outside our door for half a day. fine for people to party, but just felt the hotel should've been more on top of cleaning up, at least several hours after. overall, it was fine for what we were looking for (location, price, place to sleep, not a ritzy spa getaway, etc.), but fell short in every other way between the false alarms, lack of cleanliness outside the rooms (inside the rooms were great), and "nickel and diming" you for basic amenities, i would only go back for a meaningful discount relative to other comparable options (same star level, etc.)

Excellent stay, again!

I have stayed at the Marriott Bloor Yorkville twice now within the past 6 months. My boyfriend and I stayed there last October to celebrate our 3 year anniversary and we enjoyed Toronto and this hotel so much, we decided to stay again for Valentines day weekend. The Marriott has an excellent location close to some really nice shopping and restaurants (we ate at Mistura, which was delicious). We also walked over to the Park Hyatt (one block away) for cocktails at their rooftop lounge. While the Marriott lobby and bar are not as high-end as the Hyatt -- for the money, I would pick the Marriott every time. Parking in the public lot is $10 per day on weekends, you dont even have to go outside to hop on the subway and a very nice mall is also underground, so you don't need to go outside to shop at Holt Renfrew, Zara and more. In the 10 degree weather -- this was perfect. Rooms a the Marriott are slightly above average, comfy beds, Kuerig coffee machine was a nice touch. Bathrooms were extremely clean (I am picky about this) and my view from the 5th floor was nice. Not super stylish though -- so if thats important to you -- the decor will not impress. Didnt bother me at all for the price point. Overall -- excellent stay once again. I will stay here every time I go to Toronto.

Decent hotel rude staff

The hotel is decent, not as great as the Marriott back in the US. Half of the staff is very nice, polite, and welcoming. The other half is lazy and rude. The bell boy by the name of Jeff was irresponsible. We asked him politely to get us a big cab at a certain time, came downstairs and there was no cab ready. He lied to us about calling a cab couple of hours ago. My family and I ended up being late to our family reunion because of his irresponsibility. He was not accommodating, but after we complained to the manager, he then became super polite and tried to help. Room service was really bad- we had to call 3x to hasten service. Overall not a great experience here.

Good weekend

Hotel is OK. Nothing special about it. It is in a good location though. They only have free Wi-Fi in the lobby; otherwise you have to pay an extra fee to access internet from your room. Good for a weekend.
