Wonderful stay in a gorgeous hotel!
RMS Nov 25, 2009
The location was perfect--we went to the Air Canada Center, which was very close. We went to the Hockey Hall of Fame, also, ... which was just a couple blocks away. We only took a cab once, and that was at night, and about 1/2 mile away. The hotel was beautiful. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant; just very anxious to help us, even though it was very busy with the Hall of Fame induction occuring when we were there. Our compliments to the staff! The Breakfast Buffet was unbelievably expensive (more so than our dinner in the Italian restaurant, which was excellent and reasonably priced). We ate breakfast there once and walked elsewhere the rest of our trip.

Our room had serene views of the island off Toronto. Just lovely. The room was fine - not spectacular, but fine for us. Bed ... was comfy; nice furniture. Just a little tight. The hotel offers a nice deal where if you do the green thing, that is not having them change towels and sheets (what a waste!), they give you a $5 coupon (each day you go green) for coffee and snacks at their restaurants/coffee place. Toronto itself was stunningly beautiful -- clean, safe, and most buildings made largely of glass. It made US cities look drab, disjointed, shabby.

Walk to the left about a block upon leaving the hotel and you will find the Cocoberry Cafe. Wonderful breakfasts at about half the price of those in the hotel. Great Eggs Benedict and Belgian waffles.

Great hotel, perfect location
Michele Filmfest-goer Sep 17, 2009
We were in Toronto for 6 days for the film festival. The Westin, while not smack in the middle of downtown, is a pleasant ... 15-minute walk to the Elgin/Winter Garden theaters. We stayed there last year as well. We decided not to rent a car because the cost of parking at the hotel (around $40 per day) is prohibitive. We figured out that we could walk to most locations and could take a cab or subway for greater distances. The hotel provides an infrequent free shuttle to the Eaton Centre, which is right near the Elgin Theatre and the subway. By infrequent, I mean 4 or 5 times a day, the first trip at 12:30. It would be so much more useful if they had a much earlier trip into downtown - 8 or 9 a.m. The lobby bar is very nice, and as we got in quite late some nights, it was great that we could relax there and order drinks and light food until 1 a.m. Very convenient and a pleasant way to end the day. I have to mention that the bedding is among the most comfortable I have experienced in a hotel.

This hotel was centrally located to everything we wanted to do. Close to the subway system, buses and trolleys. The ... Harbourfront was walking distance away. Close to the CN Tower, Rogers centre and Hockey hall of fame. Easy access to the Ferry's to Centerville Toronto Island. Great hotel for families vacationing. I will choose Westin for any trip I take from hence forth.

$40 day parking $15pd Internet RIPOFF
marcheexpress Sep 7, 2009
If you book on here you get the [*] room, and then to top it off the hotel is a total rip off as far as prices, you have to ... pay $40 per ay for parking, $15 per day for internet, and $5 for a can of coke... they automatically add 18% to any food order and a $2 surcharge... this place is not worth the money...

The Westin, great hotel horrible parking
Kay Aug 24, 2009
The hotel was very nice and very clean. The only thing was the parking. They wanted $40 a night for valet, or $20 a night for ... self parking which was 2 blocks away! So it's a very nice hotel, but be prepared to pay A LOT for parking if you stay there!

We booked the room through orbitz for about $120 a night and were extremely pleased with the value. The room was clean and ... comfortable. The location was ideal as we were in town for the Red Sox series and the hotel was a 15 min walk to roger center. The parking was expensive, about $40 a night valet. I don't know if there was any other option for parking though. I'd stay here again and recommend it to others.

Toronto is not inexpensive. Be prepared to spend a little extra. Service in the hotel was good, but service overall in Toronto is not like the US (NY). Its generally slower and not as professional. Many times you must ask for your check- they wont just bring it to you quickly.
