Wellesley Manor Boutique Hotel is a quiet little European flavored hotel located in the heart of downtown Toronto. Located inside a beautifully restored 100 year old mansion, the Wellesley Manor Boutique Hotel strives to find a mix between modern comfort and old-world charm. Everything inside has been exquisitely restored to match the Victorian period when the house was originally constructed. Small details like fixtures, trims and wood-workings have been restored to their original splendor. The furniture and decor have been carefully selected to give guests the feeling of stepping into the past, with all the focus on Victorian style, it*s important to note that Wellesley Manor is not opposed to the trappings of modernity. All rooms come with 27* flat screen TVs and DVD players. Satellite TV is available in rooms as well. Complimentary high speed internet is available. Although there is no restaurant on-site, There is no end of restaurants on either Yonge St or Church St. Pretty much every type of cuisine is available in a wide variety of price ranges, all within walking distance from the hotel. all rooms come with mini-refrigerators, so guest can bring back any number of little goodies that might make for a great midnight snack. The location is one of the selling points of the hotel. The hotel is located just steps away from Yonge St. and Wellesley subway station. The subway is a safe, affordable way to see all of Toronto*s major landmarks. For those who don*t want to stray too far from home base, there*s plenty to do in the immediate area. The haute-couture shops of Bloor St are within walking distance, as is the Royal Ontario Museum. Please call the hotel in advance if your checking in late, as the Front Desk is not 24/7. Our facilities are not suitable for small children

Decent place if not too picky

I chose this place mainly for the location since it was close to a meeting I needed to go. The subway station was just across the street from the place. There were a lot of restaurants nearby within walking distance; variety of cuisine including Thai, Mexican, starbucks, mcdonalds, bars. One thing that you should be aware of is that this is a "boutique hotel," not your regular hotel. There really is no front desk staff. I arrived later in the evening so I got an email saying I had to call the hotel number to get the code for the lockbox at the front door to get my room access card. This was unusual for me but everything went smoothly. They also don't serve breakfast but there's a lot of places you can grab one around the place. It's a very basic room. One thing I wish they had was a study table where I can read or work on the computer. Overall, I'd say this is a decent place to stay if you're not too picky. The place is clean and very well kept.

Toronto Weekend

We enjoyed the Wellesley. Not spectacular, but a comfortable place to spend the night after exploring Toronto. Some might object to the noise from the Fox & Fiddle next door, but it didn't really bother us. We found the location to be ideal, but we don't mind walking a fair amount to get where we're going. Being right across from the subway might be a help to those who don't like to walk.
