Love this Hotel
I loved this hotel, the staff was great and friendly! the Location was Ideal for me. I was only dissapointed that the pool was not open, that was the only reason I gave the amenities 4 stars. I do wish the WIFI would have been complimentary to guest of the hotel, not just customers of the bar.

Dirty
There was a bobby pin on the floor of my bathroom for my stay. It was on the floor right next to the trash bin. I don't know how someone could have emptied the bin and not seen it. Clearly the floor wasn't properly cleaned after the last guest. After a guest leaves, the bathroom floor needs to be mopped thoroughly. The elevators were dirty, and one of the revolving doors in the lobby felt like it is going to break. I would have mentioned the cleanliness issue to staff, but not one person I interacted with while there asked me how my stay was going. And I was down there a few times as my room key kept on getting deactivated. I won't be back to Sutton Place until they buy a broom, a mop, and a bottle of Windex.

Mediocre hotel in downtown Toronto
Services, room, facility, all are totally mediocre - not great, but not bad. What we liked the most was the room with very comfortable beds, and what we liked the least were the old, slowest elevators. The gym was so small with very old equipments and the access to the gym/pool area was like a labyrinth. Also, we found out that what was said about the room on Orbitz was a big error - we booked three rooms including one with two king-size beds (for a higher price), only to find out that the hotel doesn't even have a room with two king-size beds (of course, no apology from the hotel for the mistake). One of our family members had to sleep in a pull-out couch for a week, which was unacceptable.

Friendly staff, clean and classy hotel
We spent one night in a renovated King room, and found it to be just fine. We were on the 7th floor but noise wasn't too bad for a big city (I always bring earplugs). Despite some negative reviews I'd seen recently, our experience was good. Comfy bed, clean room, friendly check-in.

One night in T.O.
Stayed August 27th for one night. Hotel is north of the main downtown hub but within walking distance of theater (Cannon) and Elm Street where some fine dining restaurants are located. Front desk staff were fine, not overly friendly but efficient enough. The pool was closed for maintenance which was a bit disappointing. The room was a Queen and was pretty large with a balcony, although it would have been nicer if the balcony had a table and a couple of chairs on it so we could enjoy the fresh air. The only down side was that the bathroom was quite small compared to the rest of the room but that didn't effect the enjoyment of the room. I would stay again for sure as the price was very good compared to what the hotel has to offer. Concierge was also very helpful in booking restaurant.

Great location
I truly enjoyed the hotel and it's great location. I only wish they offered free WIFI in the rooms ($ 10 can, per device is stiff). My room was clean, the staff was friendly and pleasant, the pool was under construction however the small gym/spa was good enough for my routine.

Sutton Place
The hotel was centrally located near subway and buses. It was easy to walk to anything else we wanted to do. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet. The pool was out of order so that was a let down and we didn't know until we checked in. Guests were charged $5.00 for 15 minutes of internet usage in the hotel business center. This day and age I think that is ridiculous. There was internet in the rooms as well for a fee. For some reason, the maid never seemed to know there were 4 people in the room, as she only left 2 sets of towels each day leaving us to have to request more. Overall, despite the little things, it was a good spot for what we wanted.

Did not have mini-fridge ready for us. Had to ask several times. Pool was out of order. Free internet would have been nice in the room. Did not tell us that parking at the hotel was $25 daily!

A bit faded from its former glory
The Sutton Place Hotel is centrally located near the Bloor Street shopping area, Yonge Street, and Church Street. In its heyday it was probably a four star hotel, but it has faded a bit. The hotel is very clean but the furniture in the lobby as well as in the room was older and needs updating. The bed in our room was way too soft and needed to be replaced. The room was very clean but there was no in-room refrigerator. There was a large screen HD TV though. One really outstanding feature of the hotel was the maid service. Our room was cleaned quickly, promptly and efficiently during our stay. We went one morning across the street for a coffee when we returned the room was cleaned throughly. The indoor pool was closed for "emergency repairs" which was disappointing because it would have been nice to take a swim as relief from the heat. With some upgrading, the Sutton Place could return to its old glory as a true four star hotel.

If you are adventurous and like taking public transit, the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) system is easy to navigate. To save money if you plan on more than three trips a day, buy a Daypass which allows you unlimited tram, subway and bus rides throughout he system. On weekends a family of four, two adults and two children ride on one Daypass. The pass costs ten dollars Canadian but worth it i
