Overview

The first luxury hotel in Toronto was built in 1903 and has been re-imagined for the 21st century. The focus of our 40 million dollar renovation was to showcase the old-world charm and vibrancy of Toronto with a complete transformation of our spacious guest rooms and meeting space plus lobby and restaurant and bar. While combining modern comfort and elegance we are excited to have restored the legendary hotel to palace-like grandeur. The hotel is conveniently located in the financial and entertainment districts plus close to shopping and the Metro Toronto Convention Centre as well as the Sony Centre and The Distillery District plus Eaton Centre and the St. Lawrence Farmers Market. Our 301 over-sized guestrooms and suites have recently been renovated combining sophistication with modern amenities. It truly redefines luxury for our most discerning travelers. Accommodations in this iconic hotel feature the finest in furnishings plus custom bedding and vintage crown moldings - all with impeccably appointed marble bathrooms perfecting every aspect of the guest experience at this legendary destination. Both dining establishments - namely Victorias Restaurant and Consort Bar - were included in the revitalization process at The Omni King Edward Hotel. Executive Chef Daniel Schick and his culinary team have updated the dining menus to include local seasonal ingredients and classic cooking methods. The long-standing tradition at the hotel of Afternoon Tea – a favourite activity of families and people-watchers since the turn of the 20th century - will continue Friday through Sunday.

Ok

Would not recommend Thu, Oct 16, 2014
Not a bad experience. Stayed in a room that has not been updated. Bed was ok. Dipped a little in the middle. Bathroom was ok, bizarre how it was split into two. Walls very thin, could hear every word from hallway. Website says parking available, they don't tell you that its Valet only at a cost of $51.00/day. Ended up checking out a day early due to cancelled event, this site wasn't willing to give credit for one night, neither was hotel. Have to head back to Toronto next month and will be staying elsewhere.

Within a 15 minute walk of everything!

Would recommend Sat, Aug 16, 2014
Excellent stay. A little bit of an older hotel, but some floors and rooms are being renovated! Our room was much larger then standard hotel rooms, and the staff service was great!

Money saver

Don't pay the 40-50 valet charge (we walked to everything and took a cab a couple times, as parking in Toronto is expensive) around the block on church street, there is an underground parking deck for about $25 per day. ( 90 second walk from the hotel)

Long Weekend Trip

Would recommend Wed, Aug 6, 2014
My brother and I came to this hotel to spend the long weekend in Toronto. Neither of us had been to the city before. The hotel was close locations to everything we wanted to see. Cab trips were short and cheap, and transit lines were right next to the hotel so if it was too far to walk, we were alright. The staff was so nice and answered any questions we had. If this hotel had a pool, it would be 5/5 for sure in everything. The lobby and rooms were so nice, and the room we stayed in was much bigger than we anticipated :) Definitely will stay here again next time I come to Toronto!

Nightlife hint

If you are looking for something to do in the after hours of the night, either take a cab or walk about 10 min distance to Adelaide St W. There is pubs, nightclubs, bars, etc. all down the street, so whatever your interest is, it's there :)

Classy, elegant place

Well located and well run too. It can run high in price, but if you're looking for luxury, they actually deliver. Our room was huge and the bed very comfortable. Right in the heart of Toronto.

Up-to-date rooms

Would recommend Mon, Jun 9, 2014
The staff were helpful and very friendly. Some staff members even offered options that would save us money (including parking options). We were upgraded to a larger suite from what we had booked. However, watch out, the suite we received had absolutely no view. We just saw the other parts of the hotel. You may want to ask for a room with a view if that's important to you. In-room dining options are expensive (but that's to be expected in Toronto, I believe). A short walk to Yonge Street with lots of shopping/entertainment. A little longer walk to the CN Tower. We walked there and taxied back. Lots of construction in Toronto, so give yourself LOTS of time, even when you think it's off-hours.

Nightlife hint

If you like Jazz, check out a place called The Reservoir. Just a five minute walk. Very casual, Lots of fun.

Elegant!

Would recommend Sun, Jun 8, 2014
If you are looking for a classy and charming hotel that treats you like a special guest look no further! This was the hotel my wife and I stayed at on our honeymoon 40yrs. ago and returned to celebrate our ruby anniversary. As soon as we pulled our car up Chris was right there to check our luggage and Mohammed took care of our car and brought our bags to our room. At check in we met Lucy (a truly delightful young lady), when told we were returning here 40yrs to the day for our anniversary she upgraded our room and then surprised us by having chocolate covered strawberries sent up! Later she served as our photographer, taking pictures of us by the beautiful staircase near the lobby. The room was superb, the bed comfortable, and the service excellent. This is not just a place to sleep, it's the place to stay in Toronto. Thanks to the King Eddy staff, we had a wonderful time. Management: give Chris, Lucy and Mohammed a raise, they deserve it!

Shopping hint

You don't need a vehicle, great public transportation system and shopping a short walk, attractions close by.

Very good experience

Would recommend Mon, Apr 7, 2014
Beautiful building, very luxurious interiors, nice staff. It was strange that we have to pay for Wifi access in a 4 star hotel. Other thing: spa is independent of the hotel and nothing is include in the price of the room (jacuzzi, etc).

Beautiful Hotel in Great Location

Would recommend Fri, Mar 28, 2014
Had a very pleasant stay at this hotel located in a great area of the city. The building is gorgeous and staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was immaculate and comfortable. There was no microwave or fridge but this is the third 4 star hotel I have stayed at in Toronto without either of these so I guess it's normal. Free wifi in the lobby but must pay for room internet, as is also normal for this hotel class in Toronto. I would stay here again!
