Expert hospitality and high style in heart of financial district
The Metropolitan Hotel Toronto's sleek design is a perfect match for the vibrant urban landscape of the financial district it inhabits. There's a lot going on, with business centers, theaters, galleries, museums, restaurants and boutiques nearby. But while the thrum of the streets is fast-paced and exciting, guests find a refuge of tranquility inside the hotel. After a day of meetings, shopping or sightseeing, relax with friends and colleagues at one of the hotel's award-winning restaurants. Or soak in an in-suite whirlpool tub and order dinner in.
Highlights
  • Complimentary downtown limousine service
  • In-suite whirlpool tubs
  • Award-winning on-site Lai Wah Heen Restaurant
Rooms

Features
The staff at the Metropolitan Hotel understands what it takes to make a business trip successful, from providing high-tech amenities to complimentary limousine service. Not what I was expecting

From viewing the pictures of the rooms and amenities on line I was surprised at what the room actually looked like. It was outdated, the carpet was dingy, the window treatment had been replaced (but the crown molding wasn't extended to fit tightly against the new treatment so there was a gap), and the bathroom still had an old hand held telephone next to the toilet. However, that being said, the location was fantastic! It is one block from Eaton Centre and pretty much in the heart of downtown. There was easy access, by foot, to all the attractions in the area. It was not bad for the price but I was expecting more of a modern, upscale hotel than what I actually got.

Christmas 2011 trip to Toronto

Hotel's location was great. Reviews about the hotel were accurate. The hotel desperately needs update in all areas including swimming pool and sauna area. Hotel staff were very friendly, welcoming and very helpful! We were assigned to a room upon our arrival but the bed was making noise and sheets were all thorn and very very old! I complained to the front desk and they immediately changed the room and it was better than our original room. Great hotel for the money, so if you set your expectations right at the beginning, it might be a fun getaway hotel in Toronto!

Decent, and better value that the Hiltons/Sheratons etc.

Slow check in was the only downside - good hotel for business travelers.

Good Location in a Great City!

I think I might have lucked out more than normal with the room (room 1603), because the view was absolutely AMAZING! (I don't think it was as good on the other side of the hotel.) I had a great view of the CN tower and downtown. It also was within a great distance of the St. Patrick Subway station - which was great for getting around the rest of the city! It was slightly more than I would usually pay, but it was a great place to rest up from traveling all around town and the bed was EXTREMELY comfortable! :)
