Although the oyster bar does not take reservations, wait for an available stool and enjoy the charm of the oyster shuckers at work. A casual atmosphere with some of the freshest oysters, clams and lobster in the city.

Fantastic Deal

So far in my travels the InterContintal chain always proves to be a high quality establishment, and the one in Downtown Toronto is no different. The Staff was great, the hotel is beautiful, and is conveniently located in downtown Toronto right next to the CN tower and the Union subway station... Will definitely stay there again when I go back.

My Favorite Toronto Rest Stop

Over the past few years, I've tried different hotels in Toronto. The Intercontinental was definitely the best in its class. Staff members were very nice and helpful. My room was beautiful and very comfortable. They offered a free breakfast with my stays. At most places, this is pretty modest. But at the Intercontinental they offered a beautiful buffet of delicious fresh fruit along with fresh baked breads and all the omelets, pancakes, waffles any linebacker could eat. Great coffee, fresh oj. There is a nice pool and because it's connected to an Aveda spa, the air smells like cloves instead of chlorine. I was really very happy there. It's not far from the Toronto water front. But you do have to walk a bit to get uptown. I enjoy that, but others may not. On the whole I was very happy there and will probably return there on my next trip instead of shopping around.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

There's lots of stuff to see in Toronto. But they don't really talk about their waterfront much. A fifteen minute walk from the Intercontinental will take you down to Lake Ontario where there's kayaking, sailboats, beautiful vistas. I think it's better than the CN Tower or many of the parks.

Blue Jays Weekend

I caught the Phillies Jays series in Toronto. I suppose it was more then I needed but that's the way I am. If you book far enough ahead the room rates are actually pretty good. Room was clean, people at the desk were pretty helpful. Lots of stores around to go grab food and snacks...or sight see if you're not from around here. I made friends with the chip truck guy out front, if you treat him well he'll feed you! I've never had a bad experience in this hotel.

Business trip to Toronto, train in the back - Noise

NOISY. Hotel is very nice, the location is convenient to downtown Toronto, however there are other hotels that are closer to the business area. The real issue is that the Toronto TRAIN makes a lot of movements literally in the rear of the hotel, and apparently 90% of the rooms of the hotel face to the train tracks. There are about 9 train tracks right behind the hotel, and the NOISE is non-stop all night. I asked the front desk for a quiet room and they told me the quiet rooms were from floor 9 or so, and there is an extra charge for that!! I dont think they should sell the noisy floors without letting the customer know in advance. So overall great hotel, terrible location by the train tracks, terrible noise all night.

Nice rooms, very big

I placed the order after being stuck in Toronto becauce of Huricane Irene. I tried to order through Hotel but Orbitz was cheaper. They do not honor any Priority Club status so they give nothing even though I had Platinum status, would not recomend being a member of this club since it get you nothing. Rooms are nice and large, very clean rooms, and nice bed. No bell hops out in front, must carry all the way to the desk before any help.

Hotel Security are wusses

The last night was horrendous. There was a teenage girl talking loudly on the phone in the hallway for over an hour at 2AM, and banging on the door across the hall as well. We called security and they weren't able to escort her away or resolve the problem until a good 40 minutes. We complained to the front desk the next morning when checking out[...] This was clearly the hotel's fault and we should have been compensated for losing sleep.

Great location, facility, service ??

I set this hotel up for my son to attend UFC fight as a surprise. Great location to get to the fight, etc. He enjoyed the stay but they were not very accommodating with the early arrival request. I was told no problem we will can accommodate but when he arrive he received a not so warm welcome or helpful suggestions during the interim. Luckily, he is quite resourceful & took advantage of this wait time.

great hotel

The best service I have ever had at a hotel. The room was nice and very clean. Housekeeping excellent. Restaurant incredible, expensive but incredible. Only thing not perfect was the bed, which was not bad. Connected to Air Canada Center. Rogers center is almost connected, and subway is also connected. Dining is limited with children, food court in subway is convenient though.
