Parking far away

Since it is a city center location the parking was a bit of a challenge. They recommended to use the public parking quite far away from the hotel, so you better get your stuff to the hotel before parking. The fee for parking was high without a special rate to the hotel quests. The heating/cooling unit was was very loud.

It was great

We walked in on a raining morning (12/17/12) looking to store our bags for a few hours before we checked in. The staff on duty found a room that was availble and took care of us on the spot. This is what I call service. I will never forget this and will recommend this hotel to others in a heartbeat. All front counter staff were friendly and helpful.

Great location for a hockey fan/shopper

Visited Canada and Toronto for the first time ever for a relative's wedding and chose the hotel randomly without knowing much about the city itself. The hotel proved to have a superb location on a mainstreet in downtown close to many sights, and the price was very reasonable! The staff was also very friendly & helpful, especially after my purse was stolen on the first day in Toronto. If you are a hockey fan/shopper, like I am, you should choose Hotel Victoria. It's located very close to Hockey Hall of Fame and Air Canada Centre. Hotel Victoria is close to a subway station, and it only takes about 10 minutes to walk to the city center. Additionally, probably Toronto's best Irish pub is opposite to the hotel. There is also a very nice restaurant adjoining the hotel, where you can have a good and delicious breakfasts. The staff was very friendly there, too. There is also a sandwich bar next to the hotel. The hotel room itself was clean and spacious, but perhaps a little bit weary and would have needed extra lighting. There was a fridge, too, which was nice. Bathroom was clean and ok. Earplugs are good to have with you, since there was some noise from cars on the street during the nights. There is a free WLAN at the hotel, and they have a Mac at the lobby for the use of hotel visitors. I surely could go there again.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

You should visit the restaurant "Marché" opposite to the hotel. It has different stands for different kinds of food, and the staff makes the meals from scratch while you wait. You get a card that you swipe at every stand when you order. I loved the salad bar and the balsamico dressing there.

Parking in this area can get expensive, so if you don't need a car, don't rent or bring one. The hotel is very convenient to public transportation.

Definitely Recommended!

We were traveling with our two teenage kids and we were very happy with this hotel. The room was clean, modern, and attractive with a big flat screen television and free wi-fi. It was a comfortable size for the four of us sharing the two queen-size beds. It was in a central location, walking distance to St. Lawrence Market and other tourist locations. It was a long but manageable walk to Rogers Stadium for a Blue Jays game. We paid about $120 per night.

Perfect Spot at the Right Price

I went with my husband for Caribanna the hotel was in a good location. We rented a car at the airport not knowing what the parking situation would be.The clerk on duty was so helpful he directed us to the best parking deal for our money. He even gave us suggestions for eating out. We were surrounded by such a large variety of everything so many choices. We partied, we shopped, we sat by the water we took a boat trip it was like a second honeymoon. We will be back

Lovely, well located, and affordable

We stayed in this hotel 20 years ago, and returned to find it in even better shape than the last time we were there. The updated rooms featured flat-screen TVs, the entire hotel is non-smoking, and the spotless bathrooms had free-standing sinks (that new modern style) with open shelf space underneath for toiletries. Quiet, restful, and in the middle of Toronto's most popular district (walking distance from CN Tower, Rogers Stadium and Eaton Centre) -- and at a price we could actually afford. Plus, there's a great restaurant on premises, with a terrific breakfast menu.
