Lovely, well located, and affordable

We stayed in this hotel 20 years ago, and returned to find it in even better shape than the last time we were there. The updated rooms featured flat-screen TVs, the entire hotel is non-smoking, and the spotless bathrooms had free-standing sinks (that new modern style) with open shelf space underneath for toiletries. Quiet, restful, and in the middle of Toronto's most popular district (walking distance from CN Tower, Rogers Stadium and Eaton Centre) -- and at a price we could actually afford. Plus, there's a great restaurant on premises, with a terrific breakfast menu.

Toronto Winner

Our stay in Toronto was much too short, but the location of the hotel was great. The parking option worked out even if the directions left something to be desired. The room was tastefully done and very comfortable. We had a short walk to the trolley which took us to an enjoyable restaurant. It was next to the Hockey Hall of Fame-what could be better for a die-hard hockey fan. Next time in Toronto will try to get a reservation here.

GREAT Location

I was worried about this place b/c the other reviews commented on how small the rooms were- they were NOT that small. We still had a king bed and plenty of room. I've been in much smaller in San Fran and Europe. The bathroom was recently redone and they whole room was very clean, bed was comfy. The staff was really nice and it's in a great location for all the tourist stuff and close to St. Lawerence Market. There's no on site parking, but there's a cheap Municipal parking 2 blocks away. For the price and location I would definitely stay again!

Cozy rooms in a great location

Can't beat the location for the price- especially if orbitz has a special rate. Be forewarned- in a hotel as old as this, the rooms aren't the size that most travelers are used to, but for my lady friend and me a queen room was just fine. We were able to leave the hotel and walk to most of the attractions we visited in the city, but the subway was less than a block away to get in those hard-to-reach places. Most of the best restaurants (as I've heard/read about them) in the city are within walking distance as well. Do your research- drivers will have to pay for parking.

Victoria great value.

Two business colleagues in Toronto for a convention. Our Victoria Hotel room, purchased as an add-on to our flights, worked out very well. It was small, to be sure, but economical for its convenient downtown location and featured the two (twin) beds that we sought. We were pleased.

best value in Toronto

this was such a wonderful surprise in an otherwise very expensive major city. best value i have experienced in years of business travel. you cannot find this quality of room and amenities with the best location to all the public transportation and walking distance to major tourist attractions. I will be returning in 2010 and staying at the Victoria Hotel.

What a gem!

This lovely little hotel was perfectly located near shops, theatre, restaurants, transit, you name it and it was nearby! The staff was friendly and courteous and check-in & check-out were both quick and efficient. The room was large, well-equipped, and spotless, with real windows that actually opened (rare these days) onto Yonge Street. The bed was so comfortable and I slept like a baby. As I was travelling on business, I didn't have time to check out any of the other amenities; however, the price was unbeatable and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Toronto. Kudos!!!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Not only is there a restaurant in the hotel itself, but there is an abundance of dining options very close by, everything from fast food to fine dining. As a restaurateur & sommelier, I appreciated the many choices available to me.
