Worst "service" & staff ever
Juliet Oct 20, 2009
We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights for our summer vacation and were familiar with the location so we didnt require much ... information or assistance from staff thankfully as the only two things we asked of them during our stay (bus times & use of a printer) we were left clueless. The staff could not have been more unhelpful and rude and as a "business" hotel we were absolutely disgusted and I would never stay here again. There are far better hotels available in better locations for the same price. Also there was one cleaner for each floor and on two separate occasions we left our room at 8am and returned after 7pm to find our room still unclean, we then had to wait 90 mins while it was cleaned with no apology. The room was spacious and clean and the pool was decent but it completely ruined our vacation having to deal with such obnoxious staff. Upon check out we weren't even asked how our stay was and when we asked for a manager so that we could complain to them, we were told there was non on duty. The most basic service you can offer your consumer is customer service and these guys could learn alot from McDonalds!

Perfect stay!
Pro World-Traveller Sep 12, 2009
We've stayed at quite a few Hiltons -- Stockholm, DC, Rome (Waldorf Astoria) -- in the past year and this one far surpassed ... the rest. From the moment we checked in and throughout the stay, the staff was friendly, accomodating and on the ball. My visit was actually broken out into two separate but consecutive reservations and when we showed up, we didn't have to wait long at the front desk AND the clerk proactively made it so that we could stay in the same room without having to check out in between. We were given access to the Executive Lounge where the Concierge, [...], gave us all sorts of great recommendations PLUS worked hard to get us into a full booked, popular restaurant -- on a holiday weekend! Housekeeping staff was friendly&accomodating, bellmen were also always ready to help, if you asked a question, you were given a relevant and correct answer.I have been sorely disappointed by sub-par Hilton stays this past year (March in DC, April in Rome -- horrible experience, and August in Stockholm) and was about to stop patronizing this chain after the third and most recent strike in Stockholm. This Toronto stay SAVED them from that fate and our stay was the epitome of what EVERY stay at a Hilton hotel should be like. Bravo!

Just OK experience
pyatachok Sep 11, 2009
It was a good experience due to a great location. The linens were very clean, but the pilows were not that comfortable. ... Cleaning service was not great, but acceptable. Noise level at night was high both from the street and the neighborring rooms and that was a big minus of our stay. If you are light sleeper it will be a problem for you. It'd be nice to have refregirator and microwave too. Overall it was OK stay.

I have stayed here before. It is within walking distance of Rogers Center for the baseball games we attended also it is close ... to public transportation and therefore makes it very easy to get around town without driving. Our room was on the 27th floor and had a great city view. We enjoyed the quiet and solitude after the hustle and bustle of the city streets. Ian the daytime concierge was most helpful in setting up city tours and making restaurant reservations. I have to say all those who worked behind the concierge desk and front desk were very helpful. Overall we enjoyed our experience at the Hilton and would return again.

Excellent hotel in an amazing location!
Jif Sep 8, 2009
My partner and I had a great time staying at the downtown Hilton. The staff was very helpful and friendly and offered great ... suggestions on what to do and see in Toronto. The room (on the 28th floor) had an amazing view both at night and during the day of the Toronto skyline. The bed/pillows were probably the most comfortable I have ever slept on. The pool and hot tub (located on the 2nd floor) had a great view and the sauna was also very relaxing! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone :)

If you can, get a weekly parking permit from city hall in Toronto. You may need to have a GTA resident pick it up for you (which I fortunately had). I paid $17.50 CAD total for a whole weeks worth of parking while the hotel charges $30 a night. We parked our car for the whole time on a nearby residential street and utilized the great public transportation system (TTC) and walked the rest of the time.

I was in town for a professional academic conference. I stayed for three nights. The hotel was very clean, the staff was ... very polite, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the cleaning staff was thorough. My only real complaint is that, for the price, internet access should've been available in some form, even if just through a free business center. I understand that the hotel's pricing structure encourages them not to do this, but it is nonetheless my primary complaint. There were two restaurants in the hotel, both of which were reasonably priced. This stacks up pretty nicely with other Hiltons/Sheratons I've stayed at. I'd say the room was a little small, bathroom a bit small, and internet a pain--otherwise a very comfortable experience.

Hilton Toronto
NewTorontoLover Sep 7, 2009
After having had read several bad reviews (regarding unfurbished rooms/bathrooms) I was a bit concerned but eventually ... without a reason. I had called to ask for a refurbished room 2 days before arrival but was told at the check-in that no such room would be available. Mentioning the previous call we were offered a room on the 25th floor to be ready in about 45 mins. We then were told that meanwhile all bathrooms have been renovated and that the only difference is the non-flat screen TV we got (couldn't care less). All in all, we had a lovely stay. Staff was fast, friendly, and helpful and the only "spots" I could find - if I had to- were the ones on the window (Of course, pulling the curtains aside is the first thing to do when being on one of the upper floors). Regarding amenities: We didn't eat in the hotel so there's nothing to say about that. The pool area may be a bit dated and does not offer a lot of space inside but didn't bother us as it was still warm enough to enjoy the terrace outside. Rooms are spacious, city view is beautiful, and the bathroom was great (only the architect might have got some trouble explaining the slightly unlucky construction of the shower partition: You use all the space in the shower and it's easy to flood the bathroom a little). Considering that we got a really good deal, we would immediately go there again. No doubt.

Excellent location. We were able to walk to the CN tower, attend a Blue Jays game and walk to the waterfront. The rooms ... were clean and well appointed. Parts of the room seemed dated, like the carpet. Also, it was odd that there was no mini fridge. The rooms next store could ... be ajoining, and you could hear all the conversations of the guests next door. However, the hotel was clean and very nice. It was in a great location and a great value for downtown.

Stayed at the Hotel for a conference in Toronto. The Executive suite was fantastic and the service was very good. The ... continential breakfast was of a high standard and the hotel was very quiet despite construction across the streat and an air show. The hotel is only 3 blooks from the convention centre and four blocks (roughly) from the Tower and the ballpark. The parking was very secure but the machines are rebooted every Saturday morning so be prepared to pay cash.

This hotel wasn't expensive at all. I got a deal for a free night on Orbitz. It's in the middle of everything, which is ... fantastic! I would stay here again. The only problem was that they charge for WiFi. I hate that. I don't think it's justifiable to pay $10/day for WiFi, when that's what you pay per month at home.

If you are not from the area, dress code is very "bedazzled" to say the least. If you would like to go out and get into any night club (*and you are a guy*) make sure to have pants and a "bedazzled" shirt or else they will probably not let you enter the establishment. Oh, they also charge by the ounce in terms of alcohol...Long Island Iced Tea ~ $28.00
