pretty good
I stayed 2 night in this hotel in chinatown. It's the copy of Alexandra Hotel located on the other side of the square. Rooms are decent end clean, big restroom. WiFi signal was very low at least in my room and the connection was often absent. There is a small kitchen that is pretty useful. Quiet at night. Front desk 24h. Breakfast not included. It's pretty far from downtown, about 20 min walking. The street at night is quiet but not very well lighted and with few people.

Great Location
This has the best location for its as it's right outside of Chinatown and not a very far walk from anywhere else. I got one of the first new rooms they had and it wasn't finished. There were still little touches that needed finished but once it's done, the room would be very nice.

Toronto vacation
We had a wonderful time. Spent 1 night at the Grange hotel. It was in a great location-Chinatown-Kensington market area. The hotel was not fancy, but you can't beat the price. It was basic, clean and comfortable, and there was even a kitchenette in the room! We would stay here again.

Good value for price
The hotel was so-so, yet I would recommend it for short stay, as it is pretty much downtown and close to Toronto attractions and subway/rail station.

Strictly business
The overnight staff was unhelpful as they come luckily we where able to figure out what we needed on our own, the room was very dated and the hotel overall needs some serious TLC, BUT you cannot beat the location of the place if you happen to be in Toronto for business you cannot beat this place if you're on a family vacation or romantic getaway look somewhere else.

Cheap, reasonable hotel
We stayed 3 nights on a budget and overall had a good experience. It's not the Ritz but it's in the middle of China town, has free parking, no roaches, and fairly comfortable beds.

Perfect low-cost accommodation
Whenever I travel to Toronto, I choose either the Grange or the Alexandra Apartment hotels. They are a block from one another and are both conveniently located in charming China Town and only a hop and a skip away from the famous Kensington market. The neighbourhood is charming, and the subway is only a short streetcar ride away. The accommodations are definitely on the spartan side, but that is what brings the costs down, which can be a real bonus. I find the 24 hour front desk staff are always genuinely cheerful and helpful. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Stay At This Hotel
When I decided to go to Toronto I needed a hotel with two things, a great price for a stay of multiple days, and a location of short travel to the convention center. The Grange has both of these things. I am completely happy with them. The staff was very helpful. One front desk clerk gave me good directions about town and didn't seem anoid at all that I had to interupt his break. The maid came in every day and did what they do, even cleaning the little kitchen area that you get in your room. And the maids don't bother you either, unlike other hotels I have been to where they knock on your door every morning and wake you up, Grange maids come when you are gone. The kitchen and bedroom were clean, and like another review I read says, there are no bedbugs. The toilet and bathroom sink were perfect, the shower a tiny bit less so, but everything was in order. My only criticisms are that the air conditioner is a little noisy and that if you want a coffee maker there is a $10 depotsit (which is funny because you automatically get a toaster.) But you might be able to get coffee in the office if you come at the right time. This is a great hotel though and I will probably stay again when I come back next year.

Grange Hotel
This is more of an inn. It is located in downtown, but about 15 minutes walk from the city center. The room is nice, old furniture but very clean. There is free WiFi on secured network, which is great for travelers on spontanious trip. There is no Baggage room. You need to check out at 11:00 am, so you can leave your luggage in the "office", which is the small room where you do the check in / check out. It is not locked in some room, just there near the reception (where there is always someone).
