Birthday Party in a Junior Suite

I booked a expensive suite for my 23rd birthday party the weekend of TIFF. Upon arrival I said there may be a couple people staying the night as well besides the 2 of us whom were checking in (this was a 2 bedroom suite, with kitchen, and the living room had a pull out couch bed) and I ended up getting charged $60/person extra. I figured since I was paying so much for the room and since the room was so big, clearly there would be more than 2 people allowed to stay in it without an extra fee. I also had to pay a hefty price for parking. I had 6-7 people in the room and we were all just chatting and still getting ready and about to have my birthday cake when a security guard was extremely rude and would not leave the door until we all left the room. This was at 10:30pm and no one was even drinking yet or being loud. We simply had the radio that was in the room on medium volume. May I remind you this is a suite, you would think people have had people over before curfew in the room before. The room was beautiful, the rooftop is to die for with its hot tubs and view of the city. The service however was lacking at the front desk, buffet breakfast, and of course the security.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The Hot tub on the roof was perfect. The room was clean and comfortable. Even though sometimes your could hear kids running to the elevator the overall noise was quiet.

Fabulous Weekend Get Away!

Overall our stay was a 5!!! However....the elevators were verrrrrrrryyyyyyy slow!!! Hot tubs & movie screen on the roof top ~ ingenious!!! We really enjoyed this ~ yes even in January!!! Breakfast buffet was the best ~ lots of fresh fruit and several choices for hot or cold breakfasts!!! Enjoyed using the fitness center! I was disappointed about the parking fee $22.00/day...who would have thought with the room rate we paid we would also have to pay for a car hotel too? This was never mentioned when I made my reservation ~ and frankly my hotel bill was high enough before this added expense. I would say the hotel rate for what we received is well balanced ~ however...when you add the parking fee to it I may look to find something more affordable with the same benefits (of course). Very enjoyable otherwise!!!!

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

We attended a concert at the ACC and enjoyed a nice walk through the city to and from the venue. Felt very safe! I have found a love for the city of Toronto and it's active lifestyle (I am a NY farm girl LOL!)

Great NYE stay

Excellent lux hotel in the perfect location, near shopping and other Toronto downtown attractions.. Major con: I was threatened to be thrown out of the hotel after a staff member came to the door complaining about loud music. My phone was playing music (from the phone speaker, it could not have been but so loud) and this was our first, and we were told only warning. I had reason to believe it was racially motivated - particularly because I had just returned to my room. This was the only negative experience I had from staff, but it was enough for me to question the courtesy and sensitivity of this hotel.

Grand stay

Very nice stay, staff goes out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. The breakfast buffet is killer! The rooms are very quiet as we there on a holiday weekend but didnt hear any of the commotion on our floor. The pool area lacks in cleanliness and the pix on the website must have been taken several years ago. It was within walking distance to shopping and parks and we never felt ill-at-ease walking the streets even late at night. Church/Wellsely neighborhood is kickin'! Many small ethnic eateries close by. Very diverse culture in Toronto.

Toronto Stop over

This hotel was suggested to us by friends in Toronto. The location was great and even a parking lot was provided for short time parking beside the hotel so our friends could park and collect us from the hotel. The amenities were great and we made full use of the swimming pool and the roof top spa pools. Rooms were very comfortable with plenty of space and all amenities we required. Breakfast was superb and our friends often joined us at breakfast. They decided to return for breakfasts here after we left as it was so good. A great hotel to stay at and the price is so reasonable. I have told all our Canadian friends to book when they are in Toronto.

ROUND WORLD TRIP

This hotel was recommended by friends in Toronto. It lived up and surpassed our expectations. The swimming pool was great, the hot tubs on the roof were relaxing, the room was large with a comfortable bed and breakfast was all we wanted with a great selection of hot and cold dishes. We did not use the shuttle service as our friends parked in the complimentary short stay car park and collected us each day. A great hotel that we have recommended to our other Canadian friends. We would certainly stay there next time we are in Toronto.

excellent place to stay

This hotel isnt as close to the attreactions as many people would like but I had fun walking to them anyway, as well as taking the trolly/subway. The rooms are very nice and large. We ate one dinner at the hotel and the food was excellent. Breakfast came free and was a very good full breakfast. One issue that bothered me was that when we checked in we were told that parking would cost us $20, and then on our bill we noticed that we were charged $20 per day. That seems average in the area but we were unaware and that can get expensive. They have a rooftop hot tub with a projection screen to watch TV on...that was nice!

Excellent couple retreat

I was a little nervous about booking the grand hotel it seemed almost too good to be true. Compared to all of the other hotels in the city the price was very reasonable and included amenities that others did not( pool, roof top hot tubs, complimentary breakfast). All three were as good as you could hope for. We will definitely stay here again.
