Not Great For The Price
Not that great, for the cost. Rooms were small, dirty, etc. Staff were nice some of the time. It really was a disappointment. I'd stay someplace else next time.

Delta needs some changes
time for some updates and cleanup
Memorable: From being trapped on the elevator for 15-20 minutes without even a sorry! (No compensation). Not to mention the intercom system in the elevator almost works. The last time we stayed at the Delta Chelsea we had a fire alarm in the middle of the night. The popcorn that was in the second bed was a fun surprise. And the pink spots on the towels were a nice surprise. I guess the good news was the 2 pounds sterling I found under the edge of the bed when I went to pick up a shoe that rolled under there. Looked like under the bed was last cleaned ????

Good if you don't mind hidden prices.
First, they didn't have our reservation on the computer. It wasn't under my name, credit card or reservation number. It was embarrassing to be in line looking like a fool. I booked a month in advance, and had to print up the reservations from my email [...]. Then get back in line and wait for the manager to approve it. My credit card number was put into the computer after they couldn't get it to read it (it has always been able to be read) and then my driver's license was photo copied. ( felt like I committed a crime. They were really nice to me but I still felt bad not knowing if I would be charged again for the room.I knew I might have to pay for parking, but I didn't know I would have to pay for every little thing. I made a local phone call to my parents and was charged $1.89 for a couple of minutes. Breakfast was way to expensive. I was change $15 a night for internet access. Also Parking was a bit more than I expected costing $27 per night. Costing a total of $123.05 for 3 nights on top of what we payed for the room. This is not an economical hotel and not technologically inclined hotel. The elevator system is bad as well. You have to remember which color elevator goes to your room, which is on your card, but there are two elevators to a North Parking lot and a South Parking lot. You don't get to choose which one you park in and you have separate elevators to those in different parts of the lobby. So not only do you have to remember your room number, you have to remember you color. then which parking lot you parked in and where those elevators are, then which floor of those elevators. it gets confusing when you have to park in different places. you see people lost down there in the catacombs of the parking lot.

Disappointed
We arrived Friday @ 2p.m. and were given room 2429,it was small, run down, beat up and dumpy!I was shocked!!!!! My husband and I as long as our family have stayed at the Delta Chelsea @ least 5 times and have never had such a disgraceful room.We called the front desk and were told in the past we booked a deluxe room????? I said we'd like a different room this was not acceptable, they did switch our room which was better! [...] It was still pricey per night+ parking + taxes!Dissappointed Lisa

Service left much to be desired
The Delta Chelsea in Toronto is in a good location and our room was nice (aside from a lack of lighting) and clean. However, the service left something to be desired. The weather was unseasonably cool over the Labor Day weekend and our room was cold, so we asked for an extra blanket. We were told that the hotel did not have any extra blankets, and that it could not turn up the heat unless it turned on the heat for the whole hotel. My husband was then connected to the night manager who never picked up. As a result, my husband ended up sleeping in his clothes for two nights, and I wore the one terry cloth bathrobe in the closet that had been provided by the hotel. We would never stay at this hotel again, because the impression that we received was that the hotel cares more about turning a profit and less about the people who stay there.

Try the hop on, hop off bus service that leaves from Wanda's Belgian Waffles (near the Chelsea) or at any number of attractions. It costs circa $35 for an adult and the pass is good for a week. We took the 2-hour trip around Toronto and then selected the attractions we wanted to see after that. Discounted tickets for some of the attractions are offered on the bus and a cruise out to Center Island is included in the ticket price. This is a really good deal. We also ate at a very good vegetarian restaurant behind the Chelsea on Bay Street. It is called Commencal. We were there for Sunday brunch buffet. The food was excellent, but they do weigh your plate and charge based on weight. My husband's plate cost $27! Mine was only $11 -still a little pricey for brunch, but the food is excellent!

Delta Chelsea Picketed, Unable to Cope
The location and price were great, if noisy, and we were looking forward to the Youth Lounge and Family activities. The first sign of trouble was the picket lines - workers without a contract asking for *gasp* a 2% raise and protection from injury on the job. Little problems added up: The kid's activity kit my 4 year old was given had the write on wipe off activity book with no marker or crayon, so she couldn't use it. The Youth Lounge was turned into a party room for the night, the pool was so hyper chlorinated that my daughter couldn't see for an hour afterward, and the front desk when called asked her to come down and pay $9 for eye drops - which she refused to do! The sink plugs didn't plug, and I missed the fact that there were no DVD players in our room until we couldn't play them in the Youth Lounge either. I won't be booking a Delta hotel again.

Delta Chelsea Hotel stay
Even though the hotel is smoke free, the room smelled of smoke. It seemed to be circulating through the fan system. We had a locked door to an ajoining room which was not soundproof so the TV blaring from the next room distrubed us right through until 5am. Overall, not a very pleasant room. The adult only pool and fitness facilities were very nice.

Good Location, needs renovation
The Hotel was in a great location, but is in desperate need of renovation. Our TV was from the 1980's, as was the decor and the room was a bit musty. Fortunately the bed and bathroom were clean. Signature Club floors were renovated and seemed much nicer.

Poor customer service and unclean rooms - BEWARE
I frequently stay with the Delta hotels for business purposes and this has been one of the worst experiences I've had. The first room we checked into had someone's leftover drinks left in the mini fridge and the counters werent even wiped down! We then had to wait over 30 mins for a bell boy to bring us keys to another room directly across from this one. Due to this delay I could not fully check out the new room for issues as we were running late for our seminars. However, the next morning I checked and the fridge was empty, but the freezer had an old box of someone's leftover Swiss Chalet with mold in it - PLUS the counters and sink were still a mess. I complained and did not receive any upgrades or complimentary passes and I was charged $2 for a 1 min local call!! This hotel is ridiculous and I have recommended to my work to remove our partnership with them.
