Review of Delta Chelsea in Toronto
Room was adequate for sleeping. Bathroom was small and not updated. The adult pool and the exercise room are adjacent to each other making exercising difficult with the humidity and smell of chlorine. Also the sun shone directly into the exercise room making it much hotter as well. The front desk and housekeeping staff were efficient and very friendly! Guest parking was expensive!

Not four stars
I was attending a conference and needed a place to stay downtown. This was one of the least expensive options plus it was advertised as a four star hotel. I think the room I got was one of the many "special" rooms reserved for people who made their reservation online. There was a balcony, but the door to it was screwed shut. The room was small and the carpet had stains all over it. When I turned down the bed, I found some hair on my pillow. Although the room was "non-smoking" it was clear that it had been a smoking room at one time. They tried to hide the odor and the room just ended up smelling like a musty used car. The pool and fitness center were nice, and the hotel was located a few blocks north of the Eaton Center. Also, it is close to the subway so I only spent a few dollars to get there from the airport. Not a bad place to stay if you aren't going to spend much time in your room!

Good location
The room was renovated to look good, but deep down could have benefited from more work and change of structure. Internet access is not free. About 12 $ just to plug in your computer. The hotel does not offer a private shuttle bus from the airport. You can take a group shuttle bus (stops at many hotels) for around 20$ a way. Location is great.

Style Seeker
Ick. Soulless, corporate, kid-obsessed.
As soon as I walked in, I was disappointed. To check in, there was a roped-off line, like at the bank. There was a "kids' check-in," complete with balloons. And some kind of display about summer camp -- more balloons! Soulless, corporate, ick. There was no free breakfast -- instead, a cafeteria-style dining room with bumbling tourists and their trays everywhere, with a long line to pay because the cashier has to add up every item on everyone's plate. What kind of hotel doesn't even have free COFFEE? The halls smelled like mildew, even though my room was several floors away from the floor with the pool, which I didn't even bother to try, since the rest of the hotel was so disappointing. There are a few cute restaurants across the street (Queen & Beaver and 4-5 others in a little strip of Victorian houses), but the rest of the area consists of a very touristy and gross section of Yonge St., and then if you walk a bit, a big mall full of chain stores. At no point in my stay did anyone in the hotel learn my name or have the ability to recognize me, since the place is ENORMOUS. There was always a wait for the elevator. The bed was enormous, but the linens (and towels) seemed old and scratchy. And did I mention the halls smell like mildew? That said, take this all with a grain of salt: I am a snobby New York woman. If you hate snobby New Yorkers, maybe you'll love this! Certainly if you bring, like, 15 kids, you'll fit right in!

nice hotel
very nice hotel but not having wifi in my room didn't make it very easy to do work. Had I been able to work from my room, it would have been a great stay.

Overpriced mediocrity
Asked me if I really needed a two bed room as had been booked. I said no, but expected, but didn't get a king size bed. The 100% no smoking room reeked of smoke. They offered to move me, but suggested trying a room air filter first. It changed the smell from smoky to musty, but I didn't have time to change rooms. There was no bathtub, which was a surprise to me.

Good Value, Excellent location
The hotel feels a little older (meaning 1980s) but with a friendly staff and ideal location. Competitive price wise with budget chains, but a nicer property.
