decent, but good for t bay
The free breakfast didn't exsist, so be prepared for that(I wasn't) The hotel itself was decent at best, ask for a room on the second floor because the rooms have been refurbished. I am not a complainer by any means at any time, I just like a fair deal when your paying so much, My bill for two nights was $257.00 and there was no free breakfast as advertised and I found some long thick black hairs in the bathtub that grossed me out. Other then those couple things, it was a decent place to stay in thunder bay, because the hotel scene there pretty much sucks. good luck and remember your paying for no breakfast!

The Valhalla is probably the best hotel in Thunder Bay, Which is a very low bar. The decor is 70s maybe 80s, a classic convention hotel feel. Even though I arrived at 2:00 am I was greeted professionally and dealt with efficiently. The place is spread out so getting to my room was a bit of a hike. The work for the hotel and the room is "worn". Carpets are threadbare, furnishings old & stained, and cleanliness low. The place is dirty, but cleaner than the other two T-Bay properties where I have stayed. WiFi was slow but reliable, standard TV offering. I did see signs that touted new and remodeled rooms, perhaps there are better ones to be found. I would stay there again as there are no better choices that I am aware of.

Valhalla Inn thunder Bay
It was great to have a shuttle bus to and from the airport. The room I was in was a good size and overlooked a pleasant courtyard. The room was clean with the exception of the carpet which was either very dirty or very worn, I could not tell which. My son had a smoking room and said it was so disgusting he didn't even smoke which was a good thing actually! Food was unremarkable and some of the staff at check-in where not able to answer basic questions about bus schedules to go into the main part of the city nor what stores were in the shopping mall across the street.
