Family Getaway
I have stayed at the Lord Elgin Several times. It has always been a great experience. This time however I was a bit disappointed in the room selection. My view was grand. I was on the 3rd floor looking at an AC unit. I was hoping that booking a room in advance would give me a better selection. As usual. Nothing is free in Ottawa. Being prepared that the only option for parking is valet. Again, overall I love this hotel. The staff is great. The location is perfect.

From the Lord Elgin everything is in walking distance. If not I would rec. a cab. In The Byward Market- The Grand Pizzeria. Great for an afternoon Lunch. Great Patio. The food and service is great. In The Byward Market- The Empire Grill. A bit more on the Fine dining side. Great Patio. Awesome steaks. Great staff. Murray Street Kitchen. On 110 Murray Street. Great dining for all occassions. Great atmosphere. The owner Steve Mitton is very involved with his patrons. Food is exceptional. Great for business or pleasure.

Great location, very comfortable
The hotel was located in downtown Ottawa, close to many attractions and restaurants. The rooms were large and clean. The buffet breakfast was your typical buffet breakfast and I had it once. I ordered a la carte for the rest of my stay. Overall a very nice hotel.

Only 3 nights
Went sightseeing, near parliment but not near any shops or restaurants. If returning to Ottawa would stay in the neighborhood of Chateau Lauier which is better for tourist. In general hotel was nice.

Great stay
The hotel is right downtown, we were able to walk everywhere. The staff was very nice and the room was great. Very enjoyable stay and reasonably priced.
