Worth the money.
The hotel was worth the price we paid. We weren't expecting much. The room was clean and we got service each day. Free wireless worked just fine. Room had microwave and fridge. The free breakfast wasn't much: toast, cereal, fruit, boiled eggs, coffee, milk and koolaid. A couple of miles from the falls, but I had my car, so that wasn't an issue. Free parking at the hotel. All-in-all, worth what we paid, nothing more.

Shopping tip:
Short drive from hotel
I was surprised by the sales/VAT taxes on most everything in Canada. Something around 13%. Get your gas in the USA!

Not the hotel to stay at in Niagra Falls
The hotel was very unkept and not clean at all. The drains in both the sink and the bathtub were plugged. All hotel fixtures are dated. The location is within 15 blocks of downtown Niagra, but much better accommodation can be found at this price point.

The hotel was good and the price we paid really worth it. The hotel management had been good and courteous to us. Room service was also good. Overall we didn't find anything wrong with the hotel. As a matter of fact, we had got the service we were not expecting there.

Long walk from hotel
Niagara Falls Lake is around 2 miles away from the hotel. If you have your own ride, this place is good to stay in. Otherwise buses are also available to take you to the Attractions.

Old but very comfortable
Better value than most. About 10 minutes drive to main attractions in Niagra Falls. Shuttle bus passes by every 30 minutes and saves on parking fees downtown.

Pleasantly surprised. Will stay again.
I was a little hesitant to book the trip because of some reviews from 2007 and 2008. The price for a Saturday night near Niagara Falls ($55) was too low to pass up and I figured I could rough it if necessary. The next lowest price nearer the Falls was $90. I stayed in the Falls area for Thursday and Friday and wish I had stayed at the Villager Lodge the first two nights and saved money. I was very pleasantly surprised. I can only assume that the owners read the bad reviews from last year and cleaned the place up. The place is a drive-up motel and painted blue and white. It has a nice and very clean pool. The room is standard motel-size. Happily, the sheets were clean, the carpets were clean, the microwave and kitchen were clean and worked well, and the bathroom was immaculate. I will stay there again and would recommend it to family and friends. The motel is but only a 4 minute drive to the Fallsview Casino. I liked the area because it was very quiet at night. When I stay in the Falls tourist area, I get tired of all the noise all night. The Villager is not the lap of luxury, but is really a good room at a great price. There are tons of places to eat and if you have kids, there is lots of miniature golf.

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
Carpaccio's is only a mile or two from the hotel (driving towards Niagara). You can get a brick oven pizza for two people for only $12 Canadian. The veal is amazing too. It is not my favorite restaurant in Niagara Falls. I ate there 3 times in 4 days.
