A dismissive and unsympathetic staff
New York traveler Nov 2, 2009
This is a great hotel and you will enjoy your stay unless something goes wrong with your room. If something does go wrong, ... then you'll encounter a dismissive and unsympathetic staff. I was in a room where the lever that redirects the water to the shower head in the bathroom was stubbornly stuck. After a long drive to arrive at the Falls, I wanted to take a warm shower. Since those I had traveled with had already settled in and gone to bed, I didn't want to wake them by having a repairperson come up to the room, so I quickly washed using the bathtub faucet. When I went to the front desk to talk to the night manager, [...], she was unsympathetic to the situation and offered no apologies. In my view, the hotel failed to hold up their end of the deal of providing a functional room. She took off the valet parking charge, but I didn't have a problem with the valet parking, I had a problem with the room. She said that ought to compensate for the situation but I think her response trivialized the situation. I chaffed my finger trying to pull up that lever. I didn't even mention to her that the coffee maker in the room had dirty old coffee filters in it or that the spare blanket was ripped and dirty. While I can understand that she might not have been able to offer me monetary compensation beyond what she did, I think she could have offered some compassion and an apology on behalf of Embassy Suites. Instead, she was defensive and made me feel as though I was out of my mind for being upset that a room in a highly rated hotel didn't have a working shower. She failed to see that the heart of the matter was a customer's frustration with a product that was less than promised--it wasn't necessarily a monetary issue. I was so disappointed in her lack of compassion, courtesy, and customer service skills.

The hotel room was beautiful. We upgraded to an end suite that had a awesome view of the falls. (Very reasonable price.) We ... didn't even want to leave our room. Very clean and comfortable! The only thing that we thought might need improvement was, the managers reception. But, we would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone we know!!!!!

Absolute Perfection

We stayed for 5 days at the Embassy Suites for our honeymoon, and it couldn't have gotten any better. The service was ... impeccable from the moment we arrived, and the view from our room took our breath away. The breakfast every morning was delicious, and the manager's reception every evening was the perfect way to relax. Every staff member at the hotel seemed genuinely proud of their city, and was eager to ensure we had the best time possible. The weather was a little cold, but it did not stop us from doing everything we wanted to do. The Maid of the Mist was amazing, and I highly suggest the Cave of the Winds tour on the American side. One highlight of our trip was dinner in the revolving dining room at the Skylon Tower - it was pricy, but absolutely worth every penny. We were sad to end our stay, but the sunrise we saw on our last morning was a beautiful sendoff. We are going to recommend this hotel to everyone, and we will definitely be back!

Great location, super breakfast w/ great views from hotel restaurant. Surprise $20.00 fee for parking not disclosed prior to ... arrival and in this day and age, why does any hotel even think about charging for internet access. Outrageous $12.95 per day. I just refuse. I will now look very carefully for free internet access. B & B's looking better.

Great View of Falls, Noisy Restaurant
Swellmel Sep 15, 2009
If you're going to see Niagara Falls for the first time, stay here. This hotel offers great view at very reasonable rates. My ... wife and I sat mesmerize watching the Falls. The view was so good that we had dinner via room service so we could eat great food and absorb the view of the enormous falls. You can even open the window to hear the tons of water flowing over the rocky edge. Our only disappointment was the hotel restaurant was too noisy (sounds like a sports bar) although the service and the food were both superb. All the more reason to spend your last night in your room having room service bring the food to you.

Hidden parking costs $20-$30 as well as 14% in taxes per day should be included in a 4 star hotel or at least you should make ... one aware. Great view 5 star if you take the Falls view. if not just a 3 star room. Location was great and close to anything you desire. This is a 3 star hotel in a 4 star location.

Great Trip!
Dave Aug 5, 2009
We stayed in a 2 room falls view suite. The room was awesome and the view was unbelievable. The staff was helpful and ... polite. The shows they suggested were great! The bath tub is huge and very comfortable. You can not leave without at least one trip on the Maid of the Mist boats located just outside of the hotel. WOW The hotel restaurant was so crowded that it was impossible to enjoy so we tried the TGI Friday in the lobby. The prices at TGI were inflated but I could have over looked the price if the food had been good. Try the Brazilian steak house across the street instead. The food there is top notch!

The African Safari Park was great; it's about 90 Km north of the falls. Traffic into the park is pretty heavy but it lightens up once you get inside. I didn't expect to find a park like that in Niagara Falls Canada. Just one more thing, most of the places in town don't take Visa cards.

Great Hotel With Some Problem
Whitewater Jul 14, 2009
My wife, six year old son and I returned on July 11,2009 from a four day stay at the Embassy Suites Hotel. We were on the ... 33rd floor and had an unbelievable view of the falls. You simply can find no better location than this hotel. The suite was clean, well-appointed and more than sufficient for the three of us. Our son enjoyed the swimming pool each afternoon which was very nice. The problems at the hotel all stem from the same issue---the hotel is so large (over 500 suites) that it appears that when full there are just more people than it can handle. There are insufficient elevators for all of the guests making for long waits. There is insufficient parking available on the grounds which forced the hotel to secure a parking low about 1/2 mile away which makes for long waits when you try to get your car from the valet. ALL of the parking is valet so you have no choice but to wait unless you want to pay $30 a day for parking instead of $20. This extra $10 per day keeps your car on the hotel grounds which greatly reduces the wait time to retrieve your car. Finally, the breakfast buffet which is included in the price is absolute chaos when the majority of guests arrive for breakfast at about 9-9:30. The buffet ran out of knives, trays, etc. on a regular basis during our stay. I believe this hotel would be perfect if you don't go during prime time when the crowds are just more than it can handle. tj

Bad customer service. Unprofessional
Gosu Jul 2, 2009
I had very unpleasant experience at this hotel. I came to Niagara Falls for 4th of July weekend with my family. I had booked ... 2 queen beds. When I arrived at the hotel, they told me that they don't have 2 queen beds available. Hotel staff was very rude with me. I asked them why they didn't reserve the room I had booked? They said it was a computer glitch. They offered me 2 choices: either take inferior room in Embassy suite or take a 2 queen bed room in a much inferior hotel. My US cell phone didn't have service in Canada. Without cell phone or internet, I felt helpless at the reception. I wanted to talk to Orbitz. I requested them to connect to Orbitz, which they refused. At half past midnight, I did not want to go to another hotel with my wife and 2 little kids (who were getting cranky). I felt both cheated and humiliated at the same time. I am writing this review as soon as I checked into the new hotel and got online. My vacation is ruined. I have been using Orbitz for it's reputation and the excellent service I have received in the past. Today, I was let down.

The Falls View area of Niagra Falls is expensive and you have to pay to park at almost every place you go. The hotel already charges you $20.00 per day to park. If you decide to drive anywhere in the area, be prepared to pay to park there also. The hotel has its own busses that will transport you if you buy a tour from them. The tour desk is in the hotel lobby. We recommend you buy your tour from them.

Absolutly did not like the Keg for dinner. Did not have a good experience , although the dining manager was wonderful, I won't eat at the Keg again and this is not the first time at a Keg and was not refering to just the one in the hotel. I find them too pricey , food is cold and after being ripped off by our waiter that was the last straw.

The incline railway closes at 5pm, so if you are walking back to the hotel make sure you take the high road, just near the Sky Tower, as the low road doesn't lead back to the hotel, just to parking lots.
