Not the best, but not bad.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating.[...] The bathroom was up a step from the rest of the room, which was odd. Also disappointed that the window didn't open. By morning the room was very stuffy. Ate at the Rum Runner which had decent pub-style food, but I thought the prices were a little steep for what you got. Overall, this is a charming old hotel and the staff were very friendly, but I won't go back until the renovations are finished.

Gorgeous Romantic Getaway

We had an easy check-in. They parked our car for us because the parking garage was under construction at no cost. We came for a concert at the museum which was right across the street so very convenient location. The hotel itself is very old but extremely well kept. It was like stepping back in time. The room itself had a nice view of downtown, very clean and classy. After a long night it was nice to come back to the hotel and crawl into the big comfy bed and just wind down watching t.v. They also had a gorgeous ball room with a grand piano sitting in the upstairs lobby area. Did I mention great location? There was a classy pub on the lower level with great food and good service, a coffee shop, and nice local attractions within walking distance. All in all we had a FANTASTIC stay and if we ever go up to Kitchener again we will definitely stay at the Walper Terrace again!

Old and dated

This is a very old and dated hotel. The room was small. It did not have a desk to work from. It had an odour, as did the halls. The carpets were worn and had wrinkles. Heat was supplied through a window unit that was very noisy. Complementary internet was nice, but it was slow and there was no desk to sit at with the laptop. Valet parking was also a nice touch. I would not stay again.

Flawless Service in a peice of History

From the point of checkin to departure, the service standards wowed me. Each team member of the Walper were more then happy to assist me. Everyone was was fabulous ([...] - rum runner pub, [...] - f/d, [...] - f/d, the gentleman at the front desk - i apologize I can not remember your name, but i think it started with an "[...]".)! I look forward to my next visit at the Walper Terrace.Warm Regards, Douglas Borg
