OK hotel, great location
This hotel was a nice place for me to spend two nights in St. Johns. It is definitely old, and renovations are going slowly. That being said, it was clean, the restaurant was nice, and the price was half of a hotel downtown. This hotel has the best view of the city, and is only a 15 min walk from downtown. Overall, i would stay there again. I would not recommend it to a honeymooner, but would to a person looking for a good deal.

don't go out too early! hotels close at 3:30, so there is no need to go out too much before 11.

Rooms were clean, price was right however the hotel is very dated & tired. The views are spectacular and the location is great.

1st and last time at Battery
Don't waste your money on this hotel
One suggestion: DON'T stay at this hotel. It's dirty, outdated, and the staff were not very friendly. Upon checking into my room, the ironing board was out and a lamp was leaning over, I discovered there was no air-conditioning (which considering it was 90 degrees made it very uncomfortable), the bathtub faucet leaked and had stains, and there was what appeared to be pubic hair on the bathroom wall. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone; there are much nicer, reputable hotels in the area for about the same price.

Excellent Stay
It was a nice quiet hotel. The rooms were big, but the decor and feel is of the 80's. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was great! Would stay there again.

The good , the bad and the ugly
The best thing about The Battery Hotel was the harbour view. The rooms sucked big time.....renovated maybe 20 years ago or by someone who needs their eyesight tested !!!!! Dear god Newfoundland can do better than this!!!!!!
