Weekend trip to Canada for a wedding

Would not recommend Wed, Sep 16, 2015
This may be rated as the best hotel in St John but it does not meet European standards. No restaurant. No Room service other than alcohol.Breakfast served 6:30 to 10:00am in the café. Breakfast at weekend reduced standard from that on Monday to Friday. Probably ideal B&B stop for coach parties. Staff very friendly and helpful. Have to cross several main roads and freeway to get to Uptown St John where there are some restaurants

Everything was good except for the breakfast...

Would not recommend Fri, Mar 2, 2012
First time at the Moncton and Saint John locations. Everything was good except for the breakfast...everything precooked and reheated. The eggs come in a bag and are microwaved! Even the bread choices were extremely unhealthy...all white bread and no multigrain or whole-wheat choices. I had to go without as I do my best to eat healthy when I travel. Going hungry was better than eating anything they had to offer.. I cancelled any future reservations with this hotel for this reason.

Chateau St. John, July 2011

Would recommend Tue, Jul 26, 2011
We stayed at this hotel for five nights while vacationing and had a wonderful experience. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean, spacious and well maintained. Nice complimentary breakfast and overall good location with easy access to highway. Outstanding value for the price.

Dining

We'd recommend Steamers Lobster restaurant over Billy's Seafood. Less expensive, better food, comfortable atmosphere and much better service.

Chateau Saint John

Would recommend Fri, Jun 10, 2011
We visited family and friends. Ate loster every night. Enjoyed the Market, square across from the market, shopping, Reversing Falls restaurant, Rockwood Park grounds and Lily's Cafe patio at Lily Lake, downstairs in the pavilion. Went on ferry crossings along the Saint John River and Gondola Point. Nothing mssing except the NB government not taking care of their roads. Very dangerous and the speed is much faster than Ontario. Huge potholes everywhere. The people are so embarrassed and this must hurt the tourist industry a lot. But I will always go back. Not in my car though. Only driving a rental on those roads. I enjoyed it much better than the Carribean. The people (including the drivers on the road) are unbelievabley friendly, courteous and nice downeast hospitality. The most friendliest people I hae ever met in all my travels.

Attractions

Rockwood Park - walking, biking, picnicing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, camping, etc etc etc. Hugh, clean, and so much fun. Just past the entrance which was just 2 kms or less from our hotel is Lily's cafe and patio. The food is to die for and the cheescake is out of this world. Had mussles for the first time and talk about yummy.
