This is an outstanding hotel! the amenities are over the top and the help at the reception desk are friendly, helpful and knowlegable. It is within walking distance of the major sites in victoria and also close to very good restaurants.

everything is a short walk, and we recommend the Royal British Museum and the Imax theater as a don'y miss. The entertainers along the harbor are free, and something to see.

A nice hotel with great staff

The hotel is located one block from the Clipper dock which was very convenient for us. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to help. The room was clean and the size of an apartment! The bed was better than average for a hotel. The restaurant wasn't fantastic but there are so many other places in easy walking distance that it didn't detract from our stay. The indoor pool and the billiard room were both nice amenities.

Great location but...

Easy to walk to restaurants & down town attractions. Close to ferry to Port Angeles, so can leave car in line & walk back to hotel if you don't have ferry reservations. Hotel staff was pleasant & helpful. Everything was clean. Minuses: small rooms/bathrooms and no air conditioning. It was quite warm when we were there and the only option was to leave the balcony room door open & there isn't even a screen door to lock. Didn't feel safe doing this so it was a sweaty night

Somewhat disappointed

The location of the Royal Scot is certainly ideal, being only 2 minutes from the harbour, the BC museum and the magnificent Parliament building, and five minutes from major shops, malls and restaurants. Our room was quite spacious, clean and with a decent-sized bathroom. However the housemaid tended to forget to replenish the toiletries, and Housekeeping was never available to deliver later in the day. The hotel charged an exhorbitant $3 for 15 mins use of their computer, and the time started ticking away even before connection with the internet was completed. The staff manning reception were not particularly service-oriented, nor friendly, which made it difficult to get customer satisfaction.

Excellent!

This was a home away from home. It was reasonably priced and only a block away from the fabulous Victoria Inner Harbor. The room was comfortably large and nicely furnished. There was a fridge and microwave. It is a wonderful place for families, too.

Royal Scot

Hotel is nice & clean. Great service. Nice pool & hot tub. Hotel is not new & modern, but has an older charm to it. My daughter and I went for the night and had a room with 1 queen bed. The room was very small. I have stayed in the suites before, and they are much roomier!

Great location

We always stay here as it is a great location, spacious rooms (albeit dated)and reasonably priced. It is nice to be near the water and a nice place to walk and yet close to downtown. The kitchen is well equipped and the living room spacious. Try and get a room with a balcony if available.

Spending time at Santiago's cafe is a must. Great food, decent prices and funky decor and close to the outdoor gallery (so so).

Terrific Loacation

We were lucky enough to upgraded from a room to a suite. This is the second time this has happened and is a very pleasant surprise. The hotel is quiet yet very close to all major attractions. We did not need to use our car once in the two days we were there. I would highly recommend this hotel for older travelers.
