The English Inn is a collection of luxurious Manors set amidst a spectacular 1.5 acre garden estate, located moments from downtown and Victoria's Inner Harbour. The traditional charm of our Manor Houses nestled throughout the estate is enhanced by contemporary design within the rooms and suites. Many rooms feature magnificent four-poster canopy beds, red brick fireplaces and decks or patios. This hotel is a stair access ONLY property. Disappointed

Too far from town. Nice grounds. Clean hotel. Sad continental breakfast. Not enough attention to detail. No individual temperature control in room.

a great non stay

Booked this hotel for a friend on a limited budget. Unfortunately due to a family emergency she was unable to stay so hence the great non stay. I did have other friends.dsl staying here ironically and they enjoyed and we're pleased by the accommodations.

A true hidden English garden gem!

You'll feel your in England at this tucked away quaint, authentic Inn actually constructed by builders brought in from England & Scotland. Everything is the real deal here & most charming. You awaken with the aroma of fresh croissants baked each morning & wonderful fruit & yogurts. I can't say enough about this place. We liked that it was in a quiet residential neighborhood across the bridge with immediate access to downtown. A fantastic value as well. I'll never stay anywhere else in Victoria - so lucky to find it!

Lovely weekend destination

My husband and I have just spent two nights at the English Inn and enjoyed it very much. It is situated in a very quiet section of Esquimalt, a short distance from a small park and nice coastal walk. Our room was on the 3rd floor and had lovely windows overlooking the front garden. It was very clean and comfortable. The Inn itself is so quiet that we were unaware of other guests until we saw them in the dining room each morning. The continental breakfast was nicely prepared and replenished frequently. We enjoyed gazing over the spacious grounds as we sipped our tea and ate the amazingly light croissants. The English Inn is a destination we will definitely return to when we are in Victoria.

Don't be fooled by the Victoria address

The English Inn is a quirkily little inn which is an interesting place if you don't mind going out of your way. Although the inn has a Victoria address, it's actually in Equimalt, which is Greater Victoria and not easily walkable from downtown. If you don't have a car, you'll have to either take a bus and then walk several blocks or, alternatively, hire a taxi to get there. Although the inn was almost empty the night we were there we were given a room in the attic. The room was clean and comfortable, but the hallways and stairs up to our room needed some serious freshening up. However, the grounds were lovely.

Quaint and friendly

Overall good experience and would stay again. Friendly staff. Fantastic croissants with breakfast and lovely dining area. Inn and grounds have seen better days - a bit tattered around the edges. Very English in that sense.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Get a car. Taxi and bus transport add up and there is much more to see on the island than Victoria and the garden.

Great location, good value

Lots of stairs to climb, windows too high to use, and slippery leather chairs. Very handy to Macaulay Park and Saxe Park - also to downtown Victoria. Enjoyed the continental breakfast, and staff are friendly and helpful.
