great location
This hotel was perfect for the location we needed. Just behind the provincial museum and two blocks from the waterfront. The only drawback is the parking situation. The driveway was fairly hidden (we had to drive around twice) and the stalls cramped. So it was a good thing that we didn't have to move the car once we got there. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Lots of class (once you get in there), excellent staff and within walking distance of just about everything you want to do or see there!!

great location, great staff
All of the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly, worked to anticipate you your needs; the location could not be better for exploring downtown; a south facing room would have been nicer - ask for that if you can, the northern rooms have quite a bit of traffic noise

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
don't bother with the hop on hop off, they drive in circles to make it feel like you've gone a long ways, half the stops were hotels and the cost would buy you alot of public bus trips

Hotel and Restaurant Staff
Check-in and check- out was the easiest that I have ever experienced. All of the hotel and restaurant staff went out of their way to make our stay and our reunion with family memorable. We had a waitress in Samuel's go above the beyond to accommodate a 3 year old in our party that was having a difficult time. . This young lady made the distraught mother feel comfortable.and put the rest of us at ease. She helped make what could have been a disaster into a pleasant evening. The entire staff were "Perfect".

Good
Friendly staff. There was a kitchen attached to the rrom for 20 dollars additional each night. We didn't use it but may be useful for people with children. Good location in downtown victoia

Great location with some minor issues
Just expected a little more out of this place. No where on the hotel write up does it say how close to traffic the hotel is so that meant there was quite a bit of noise. Also the beds were a little uncomfortable and the room was kind of cramped. However the staff were super friendly and very professional and you couldn't ask for a better location. I would recommend this hotel for a business or short trip but not an extended stay.

good for your money
The hotel was nice. The amenities were nice they had a hot tub, sauna, pool (very small pool) but deep, fitness center. The room was in good condition the only thing is that it is a little outdated. They have updated the bathroom and it looks great, if they could just update the decor and bedding in the main sleeping area! Overall experience, was good. I would definately stay here again, great price for what you get. It is definately better than spending 210 dollars a night for the marriot.

Great price,locaton, location and clean!
This hotel is behind the Empress Hotel and B.C. museum. Ask for room on parkview side or harbour. May be an upgrade charge for harbour view but parkview side was great especially if you get the higher floors.Kitchenettes available. Though rooms were small they were updated, nicely appointed and very clean. Great lobby area with fireplace. Pool area very nice. Restaurant on site is good. Others across the street.Had read some negative reviews before I booked but could not find anything bad. Will stay here again. Very glad to find this place. Have stayed at other places over the various times I have visited.

Good value; great location
Very helpful staff, extremely friendly. Our desk clerk told us about their free taxi service, but then didn't offer it to us when we asked about Craigdarroch Castle. Perhaps it was outside their zone, or she just judged us to be two healthy adults who were up for the walk. Best part of the stay was how quiet the hotel was, even in the middle of downtown during the holidays. My partner is very sensitive to night noise, and slept soundly all through our stay.

Great place to stay!!
A great hotel! Super friendly staff!! We took cabs to all the places we went and the front desk called to get us a cab and even gave us vouchers for the cab! Everything was very clean and the food in the restaurant was very tasty! The hotel was also in close proximity to everywhere we wanted to go. The only complaint we had was that the room was a little small, but we would definitely stay here again

Short drive from hotel
Go to Butchart Gardens!! It is a gorgeous place to roam around! It is not too large so you can spend a few hours there and still have time for other things!!! A definite must see!
