Quality in? Wrong, quality out!
Besides being close to the harbor, which is a plus, this hotel is a kind of old and it was not clean as I would have expected. The room above me was very squeaky and I would hear them walking and dropping things that I wasn't able to sleep.

Close to harbor but disappointing,
The location was fair. The hotel overall was disappointing due to not being clean. There was a used towell left in the bathroom and the sheets were very wrinkled and uninviting. There was a lot of noise from individuals outside on the street until the early hours of the morning.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
The best meals for the price were at sidewalk cafes which were located 2 to 3 blocks north of the main shopping area. Several very nice coffee shops with pastries are also located in the same area. Sam's deli and Murchies are also good bargins.

Good location, clean and neat.
My friend and I visited Victoria for a weekend and spent one night here. More reasonably-priced than a lot of them in the area, just a few blocks from the harbor. I like that it had a hair dryer. An extr a blanket was in the drawer, also, which I used. We did not eat there.

Fantastic location!
We were so delighted with the location of the Quality Inn in downtown Victoria. We put our car in the underground garage and didn't move it until we left. Everything fun to do is within easy walking distance. The staff was delightful both at the front desk and the dining room. When we checked out we asked if we could leave the car in the garage until our 3:00 ferry and the staff was very nice about it. The rooms are well appointed and very clean. Our room looked out onto a quiet little courtyard with a fountain, and we didn't hear any city noise at all.

Short walk from hotel
The dining room is very nice and the food is great, but if you're willing to walk one block up the street (north), there are two little sidewalk cafes with good food and fantastic prices. We had a breakfast that was virtually identical to the breakfast we had in the dining room for less than half the price.

Excellent Property, Wonderful Hosts
The staff were extremely helpful for any request we had, including directions, early check in, toothbrushes, storing luggage while we were out, etc. We had a giant room with 2 beds and a kitchen by paying only about $10 more on Orbitz than a regular room. Crib was free. Rooms were clean and quiet. Our room was on a street but still pretty quiet. The curtains were room darkening for a restful sleep. This hotel is only about a 10 minute walk from the ferry docks and a 5 minute walk from downtown / Government Street. The walk is fun in itself since you'll be passing pleasant upscale shops with wonderful wares. The Empress Hotel is only a 5 minute walk away, and beautiful Beacon Hill Park is only a 10 to 15 minute walk.

Short walk from hotel
Beacon Hill Park is as nice as Butchart Gardens, great for photo shoots against stone bridges and giant trees. It is also better for kids than Butchart Gardens. There is a petting zoo, play area, and lawns free for roaming at Beacon Hill Park (as well as a totem pole park nearby), whereas Butchart does not allow kids to roam on the grass)!

Good basic accommodations
A friend and I needed a place near the inner harbor to spend a night. The Quality Inn provides a convenient location, friendly staff, comfortable beds and a reasonable price. No problems.

Great location at edge of downtown. Very affordable, clean and just right for a quick business trip where you don't need a spa and all the frills!
