A GREAT PLACE TO STAY
Located right next to the Parlament Building and an easy walk to the waterfront, attractions, food, etc. Very nice hotel with a great staff. Nice room...somewhat tight quarters in the bathroom but still very nice. Gaited parking in the basement that we could use before check in, very handy, (however did not realize we would have to pay extra for,...just a bit of a supprise) Also had a separate gaited area for our bicycles.

Long walk from hotel
HIGHLY recommend going through Craigdarroch Castle. An amazing "home"....absolutly facinating story. Next to the Parlament Building which is free admission and another great, informative and entertaining place to see, the castle won't break the bank.

Great End of Summer Escape
Front desk was efficient in check in and check out. Also offered a couple of suggestions for entertainment while we were in town. We discovered that we can walk to all the best restaurants and entertainment events (and we did) while staying at the HGP. Our only small issue was the in-room coffee maker was in need of some minor cleaning. Also, the coffee shop in the hotel did not open until 6:30am. For an early riser like me, who does not wish to wake my spouse, this meant wandering out in the dark to find an open Starbucks or local coffee house. Other than that very minor issue, the stay was just perfect. We'll be back.

Short walk from hotel
Rebar Restaurant is a delightful place, with very interesting and healthy fare, about 1/2 mile from the hotel, just off Government Street. Zambris is another favorite of ours, but they have moved to less intimate (larger) space and the ambiance is not quite the same. Great food, though.

Weekend stay - short notice
Great location downtown. Parked and walked everywhere in the city all weekend. Hotel charged $15.00 per day for parking which seemed excessive. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Coffee pot really small! Enjoyed our stay.

Best Place to Stay!!!
The staff is the best! Location is right across the street from the ferry terminal. Close to all shops and waterfront. This would the best for someone who is a walk on travler from Port Angles. Only complaint was bad tv reception but it was a minor problem. Will stay here again!

Great value, world class location
Hotel is located very close to city center enabling quick access to any hospitality resource you're looking for. The hotel staff are very helpful and are quick to provide insights to anything you may need. The Grand Pacific gets a solid 9 on my rating scale... The only gap is the lack of flat screen tv's which in my opinion is a nice to have but not critical to making the stay any more enjoyable.

Great pub atmosphere for fun and live music? Try Darcy's Pub on the Harbour downtown. Great vibe, lots of energy and the most refreshing Molson Canadian draught I found.

Great Hotel
The hotel was clean, very nice staff, nice pool and awesome bedding. The staff left nice notes in our room both days thanking us for staying at their hotel and even left us chocolates. Very nice added personal touch. I liked everything except the pillows.

Great location for ferry and waterfront
Kids loved the pool and location. Ate elsewhere as the resturant prices were too high. Great location for ferry and waterfront.

Great fish and chips at a reasonable price at the Flying Otter. They had a nice children's menu. The only floating resturant in Victoria.
