Only the picturesque seawall separates this downtown luxury resort from the stunning 1,000-acre Stanley Park. Snow-capped mountains serve as a backdrop for the gorgeous forested urban park and crystal blue harbor that flank either side of the hotel. Perhaps inspired by the abundance of natural beauty, every detail of the Westin Bayshore is lovely and well executed. The highest quality linens and exclusive Heavenly Beds, unbelievable ocean vistas and absolute pampering at the on-site spa wrap guests in splendor at every turn.

Rooms

Recently redecorated guestrooms and suites of the Westin Bayshore showcase an earthy palette and classic, comfortable furnishings. Views from floor to ceiling windows, sliding glass doors and private balconies take center stage in many of the rooms--it's hard to beat the incredible mountain, ocean and city scenery. All rooms have the hotel's signature Heavenly Bed (designed for a great night's sleep in exquisite comfort), large TV and high-speed Internet access (fees apply).

Property features
This phenomenal location offers guests an immediate connection with nature while enjoying the excitement of a cosmopolitan city. At the Westin Bayshore, guests are right on the water, just steps from the gorgeous 1,000-acre urban forest bordering the city and a short walk to trendy boutiques, fascinating plays and world-class cuisine. Enjoy the marina views at the hotel's on-site restaurants: Currents at Bayshore (reservations recommended) or the more casual Seawall Bar & Grill. The refined Vida Spa blends the ancient Indian science of Ayurveda with the best in Western healing philosophies to help guests relax and rejuvenate.

Family trip

There was construction noise at 6:30 in the morning without a notice. Even though parking on the street is free after 9:00pm to 9:00am, the valet is very expensive and so is self parking. They didn't let us know we could have parked for free, we wasted $40 for no reason. The carpets were old and smelly.

Awesome Location; perfect for families

The location on the waterfront doesn't get any better than this. The lobby/ lounging area is huge and thus perfect for families to sit & chat. The staff were very courteous all-around.

Room with a view

Beautiful view of the bay, comfortable bed, delicious breakfast. While I don't mind paying top dollar for a nice room, I am annoyed to have to pay top dollar to park my car.

Bayshore great - depending on roomview

Great location, excellent service, nearby bars and restaurants. However I feel the room descriptions are obtuse and we were disappointed with a suite stuck in a corner with a view and balcony over a shingle roof. Tower De luxe actually means Harbour View, Traditional room means no view! Traditionla Marina view means partial / obscured view of harbour. I had expected a better view having paid for a suite!! Come on Westin, tell it like it is! Also the health suite was undergoing a refurb so facilities more restricted (Sept 2009)and late check out changing /shower was unavailable.

Fantastic location

We had wonderfrul time at the Westin. The hotel in reality is more beautiful than advertised. The only issues I would have that the room could have been cleaner and the reception staff more friendly. Not once did anyone ask if we were enjoying our stay even at checkout,. Thats not great when you have spent a lot of money. Overall it was fantasic location and within walking distance to everyting.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

You have to vist The Keg on Thurlow Street - great steak and fish restaurant,. Bit more expensive but great treat. Also Zepherellis (think Robson Street) one of the best meals of the holiday. The above restaurants are about 15mins walk from hotel.

Heart of Downtown

The hotel is centrally located, the staff was helpful and attentive, the rooms were kinda bland, and showing some age, there was one time I called 5 minutes ahead for the valet to have my car ready, but when I got down there, I had to wait 5 more minutes. In room dining was decent the salmon was a bit dry, but the tomato soup was awesome.
