pampering at its best

The staff at the Sutton Place made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Everyone we encountered -- from the front desk, to the concierge, to room service, to cleaning staff -- was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I was especially impressed by the concierge, who was unfailingly cheerful and helpful. The concierge suggested restaurants, had ideas for activities, and took care of bookings. I would be happy to come back to this hotel!

Wow! Terrific hotel

The Sutton Place was almost perfectly located near the corner of Robson and Burrard. The room was excellent (a deluxe), the bed was one of the most comfortable I slept in, and cleanliness outstanding. Robes, an umbrella, a free safe. Wireless cost was high ($15/night!), but there were several free hotspots bleeding into the room so after the first night, no problem. Though slightly expensive, the Eggs Benedict with salmon was amazing in the hotel restaurant. A short walk to most downtown attractions including Stanley Park and the Convention Center. Last time I stayed in the equally nice Vancouver Hotel (Fairmount). Sutton Place was better for the money.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Go left out the front a half block then left on Robson for lots of good grub. If you like, go right out the front and you are a half-block from a very nicely IGA grocery stocked with quality produce and other goodies. You can't go hungry.

gOOD STAY

The whole experience was great. The room service and general atmosphere of the hotel and staff was very good. The personnel are pleasant and go out of their way to please. I do not need clean bedding for a king sized bed everyday, I told them and wrote them a note, but they changed every second day anyway. Only charge was for the local telephone calls that I made..they were billed at C$1.28 per call which is better than many hotels. I had a cell phone for long distance calls. They had access to the High Speed Internet, but it was an extra charge per 24 hour day. I used the telephone line. Short walk to shopping, fast food, novelty shops, shopping plazas. IGA grocery store was next door and a very nice coffee shop on the other side. Tim Horton's, McDonalds, Denny's, Subway, all in the area with several smaller Italian, Thai, and Japanese restaurants also.

My review of The Sutton Place - Vancouver

This was my second stay at this location. This area of Vancouver has many high end hotels, but Sutton Place is one of the best I have used in my visits to the area. THe rooms are well appointed and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The on site restaurant is a cut above most hotel places with very good food at all meals. Room service is prompt and offers a wide range of choices.

Good for business or personal

Sutton Place is in a very convenient location for business, sightseeing (relatively short walk to major sites), and has all the amenities that a somewhat spoiled traveler can expect. The facilities are first rate. Staff was very helpful. Room was not terribly large, but big enough and quite comfortable.
