Nice hotel on Robson
First Time Mom Oct 20, 2009
We went for one overnight stay for a quick mini-vacation and found the hotel very nice. It's a little pricey but it was ... clean. The restaurant O'Doul's was also very nice. Had to send back my steak because it was medium instead of medium-rare, but my husband's scallops were perfect. We would stay there again. Added bonus: wi-fi and phone calls to the US are included! (because it's an added tax, but still).
Traveler type: Couples
The best part is it's so close to shopping on Robson!

At this hotel, the toiletries are out of dispensers, which is how all hotels should handle shampoos, soaps, and lotions. ... This cuts down on the trash from the plastic bottles and waste. I love that there's a bin for recyclables in each room. The decor is very nice and contemporary. There is a lot thought-provoking art all around. I would recommend this hotel to stay at.

Across the street is a sushi place called Miko, that has good, straight-up authentic japanese sushi. This place doesn't have a lot of the frou-frou fancy fusion rolls with special sauces. It's just the basics, but they are delicious. They can make a dragon roll or rainbow roll, but it's not on the menu. Good for the price. A favorite of hockey players, local and visiting.

The hotel was right on Robson Street, which had tons of restaurant options. Overall the hotel was nice, quiet, and clean. ... Unfortunately, our key cards rarely worked in either the elevator or our room's door, meaning we often had to swipe it 10 times before it would work. Other people had similar problems. No adequate solution was provided. Very frustrating, and for that reason, probaby wouldn't go back.

Great Hotel in Downtown Vancouver
Young Traveler Aug 12, 2009
A great hotel for any traveler type. Located almost directly in the center of downtown, it is surrounded by restaurants and ... shopping. Equally distant from Stanley Park, the waterfront and the Gaslight neighborhood, my wife and I walked to all. Only a short drive over the Granville Bridge will take you to the market. The hotel's interior appeared clean and museum-like, without appearing sterile. The customer service is first-class, even after making difficult requests. My wife and I stayed in a premium room, with window seat, large plasma TV and king size bed. Smaller bathroom with the sink outside of it, and my only complaint is that I am used to a softer mattress, while the Listel had more obviously spring mattresses. Still very comfortable. Also has AC which was great for the local weather at the time!
Traveler type: Couples
A couple of blocks from the hotel are bike shops, great for picking up and biking down to Stanley Park for a great bike route along the waterfront and the through the forests of the park.

Rooms are large and nicely decorated. Original art on the wall done by local artists. Affiliated with the anthropology ... department of the University of British columbia. Staff was helpful and responsive to our questions. Only complaints were that the waste basket was not empty in our room when we arrived but otherwise the room was very clean. And the health club is pretty small and not very practical. View is great. I would definitely stay there again. Conveniently located to the water, entertainment, restaurants, the bus that goes around the city. Highly recommended.

If you don't mind covering a little distance on foot, there are dozens of incredible restaurants within walking distance (especially on Denman St.), and this is a city known for its fine food.
