Sandman Suites on Davie - Vancouver

We stayed three nights at the hotel. If you don't mind walking, you can walk all over the city from China town, old town and Stanley Park all about one mile away. We stayed in the Penthouse on the top floor because we wanted the jacuzzi which was nice after walking around town, just remember that the penthouse is a studio room and doesn't have a seperate bedroom. Plenty of food choices and many great bakeries on the same block. A good hotel for the price and location. I would stay there again.

The hotel was in a good location for walking to restaurants, bars & clubs, shopping. I thought the suites should have either been a little bigger or laid out a little better. It seemed like a decent size hotel room that was retro-fitted with a wall down the middle to turn it into a suite. So the bedroom was very small, you had to crawl across the bed to get to the sliding door, as the television stand was about 10 inches from the end of the bed. (suggestion: flat panel wall mounted television perhaps) It was nice to have a kitchen, but when we first walked in the room it smelled sort of bad. The lobby area was very nice and modern. The Spa was very nice. The exterior of the hotel is very dated and needs some freshening up.

Excellent location. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Very friendly and helpful staff. Suite is on the small side. Ok for two persons. A bit cramped if three people are sharing the suite. Parking is expensive.

I feel that there should not be a charge for parking when paying the high price for staying here ... that and there was no hot water for a shower at night.. otherwise a good hotel for downtown

Nice room, great location for walking the west end and beaches, rooms clean and comfortable, great views on waterside.

The Sandman is in a great location. The front desk service was friendly and helpful. Parking is extra, and with tax it amounts to about $26 night. The rooms are clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower didn't drain well, but otherwise the room seemed to be in decent working order. We liked the suite style. Overall, this is a good value for the price.

[...] The hotel in right in the center of Davie village, is connected to a nice restaurant/lounge, and is near good restaurants and shopping. The room was nice and clean, pretty much set up like a one bedroom apartment. I didn't get a chance to check out the pool, or workout area.

Pool was quite dirty. There were some obnoxious and loud guests at the hotel who were eventually asked to leave, but it made for a long night. The staff however was very polite and professional. Very good service in the restaurant as well. Nice sauna room.

Very nice staff. Great neighborhood: many restaurants, very convenient, near great park and water views, near cinematheque. A lively, diverse, friendly gay neighborhood welcoming to all, gay or not.

The hotel was good for a one night stop over, the only small problem was the sofa bed was too small even for 2 young children,but would cope for one night apart from that the hotel was in a good location and within a 20minute walk of the Gastown area which is a must.
