Not good!!!

Sheets were NOT clean! Coffee in room had expired. Microwave did NOT work. Bubbles in hot tub did NOT work. There was a concert at BC Place that kept us awake ALL night as it shook our room. Wild after party in the hotel with a lot of hall traffic. Was told only a one day event, but it was a 2 day festival!!!

vancouver trip

The service at this hotel was so bad that for the first time in my life I checked out of the hotel five minutes after checking in to it. We walked up to the room to drop off the luggage, use the restroom and go off exploring the city. The bathroom clogged up and when we called the front desk they asked us if it was number 1 or 2 and told us they would give us a plunger to clean it ourselves. We were shocked at how ridiculous this was, especially after paying $175 a night for a room. The staff said that the maintainence was gone for the long labor day weekend and that the 3 people at the front desk had to do everything for the 300 room hotel. The staff was rude and didn't understand how we felt at all so we cancelled the booking and left the hotel. They tried to make it better by calling us another hotel for that night. The other hotel was only 2 blocks away and was twice as clean, with a staff that was great. I would not recemmond the sandman hotel to anyone because they did nothing but frustrate us and waste 3 hours of our vacation.

Terrible beds

Small, old elevators and terrible beds. The parking garage was being resurfaced, but no warnings about what was being done to the garage - another guest ended up with tar all over her shoes because she could not get to her car without walking through the fresh surfacing and had no choice because she had to be somewhere and the hotel did not inform the guests. Not a happy experience with this hotel.

Old, small and busy

We stayed for a BC Lions game, and the location is great.. however there are nicer hotels closer to BC place. Check was atrocious. I have never seen a checkin line so long, there must have been 8-10 groups in front of me. The elevators were very slow, with lineups in order to get on one to go up to your room... . The room was SMALL, about the size of my bathroom at home (admittedly my bathroom is a large one, but still!) and it smelled like old man B.O. It looks like they have squeezed rooms anywhere they can - behind ice machines, beside elevator shafts etc. And it is difficult to find your way around the hotel... for example to get from your room to the pool is quite an operation in multiple old staircases, doors and elevators. We ate at Moxies in the restaurant at the hotel, and the waiter was very rude to us. The one good thing about it is that they enforce quiet hours after 10, so we did sleep well. But I will NEVER stay again, you can do much better in Vancouver for the money.

bad hotel, bad hockey game

Rooms was small, TV didn't work, housekeeping was shoddy. Worst part was the noise. This hotel caters to a younger crowd who had come to watch the Hockey game and we were kept up till very early in the morning with the noise.

met our standards

[...] and for the price it was a good location, clean rooms with enough space. the staff also was helpful. eating is right in the next block, and shopping is a 5 min walk away. the place gets a little noisy at night, from the hotel bar, and there is a club i right across, but you dont hear music, just people sometimes. but overall was a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

just a 5 min walk away is an entire street with shops, but all the exact same shops are all in mall which is also right around the corner i think the name was pacific center, the hotel staff can help you with that but everything here is cheaper and better to shop at.

Good location

Front desk service was very pleasant. Elevators were not enough to serve a hotel of this size. No towel racks even though the sign said place your towel on a rack if you do not want fresh towels. Moxi's restaurent was a nice attraction. Over all a pleasant stay.

Good for the price

Good value hotel. Nothing fancy but nothing really bad either. Room was clean if a bit small even in the corporate tower. Some confusion at check-in/out over parking being included in the package. Be sure to bring your confirmation details when checking in.

Great hotel

It was a great hotel, speedy check in from courteous staff, the room was a good size and very clean. Large flat screen. The bathroom was recently updated but poorly maintained there was mold growing in the grout. And the parking spots were very small, hard to get my baby out of the car. I had to back out because there wasn't enough room to get her seat in. Thank goodness I wasn't traveling alone or else we would've been in trouble.
