I'd stay here again, however...

Being my first trip to Vancouver, I don't think I could have stayed in a better location for some casual tourist enjoyment. There are many varied interests at a walking distance, including a range of eateries. The lobby is very well put together and the staff very helpful; however, once you hit the elevator it smells like kitty litter. The lift, the hallway, and the room a wee bit. Quite strange.

And It Stinks Too

First the parking situation is a nightmare. Small spaces and never was any place to park your car and they charge you to park. That was the least of the problems with hotel. It is above a disco that thump LOUD music all night long into the wee hours. The elevators are so small and fit one person with a bag at a time. I decided to walk the flight of stairs to my floor. The hallways stink so bad of body odor I about got sick from the smell. The bathroom in my room had hair all inside the shower. I will NEVER go back to this place again. Unless you like disco music thumping you awake until dawn and the smell of body odor is your choice don't bother going. Plus, it is too expensive for what you pay for.

Good night sleep!

I checked in at the last minute when i found out my accomodation in Vancouver was no longer available - i was pleased to receive a decent rate compared to the different properties in the same area. The room (very small though) and bathroom were clean - they updated the room with a flat screen tv and wifi was very reliable. I wish the hallways would have received the same facelift but overall it is a good hotel for a business stay. Breakfast is not included : 7.50CAD additional.

Loud & Unpleasant

Although the hotel was indeed in the center of everything, and the rooms were well taken care of, I would not recommend this hotel. It is next to a club, whose throbbing base line invaded my room every night well into the wee hours of the morning. Granville is also a noisy street, especially on the weekend. I would go with a hotel NOT on Granville for a traveler who really wants to be able to relax in his/her hotel room! The Ramada room was clean and renovated, but it was tiny, with bad lighting and no natural light through its dingy window. Did I mention it was tiny? And there was a ceiling leak outside my room in the hallway whose dripping sound I could hear through my hotel door.

Ramada Inn and Suites Downtown Vancouver

Hotel was very decent. Neat, clean and very well situated. The staff was smart, responsive, extremely accomodating (let me stay beyond checkout time without extra charge). Must consider.

Great location & price, average quality

I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the location was, there are TON of restaurants, shops etc within a few blocks of the hotel, even better than in the supposedly "fancier" downtown hotels. The price is also VERY affordable compared with the bigger hotels. HOWEVER, you get what you pay for: (1) My room was pretty small (2) The service seemed only average compared to other hotels I've been to. In a way it is like going to a "motel" in the heart of downtown. Overall if you're on a budget but want to be close to the action I think it is a good choice.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Templeton's: This is a historic 50s style diner only about 1 block from the hotel. A decent selection and a nice ambiance. However there a ton of other places within a short walk so finding a place you like shouldn't be a problem.
