Truly a great place! :)
Very Satisfied Nov 16, 2009
The hotel is centrally located in downtown Vancouver, it's close to everything and the staff is really nice. It is very ... upscale and the price can't be beat. Although, the room service food was not that good it's close to a bunch of great restaurants.

Don't be afraid to use the bus. Its routes are really easy to learn and because Vancouver is so big, taxi's can add up fast. They also run really late. Public transportation is above and beyond what we have in the USA, it's clean, safe, and they run late.

This is a first-class boutique hotel. We had a VERY reasonably priced suite (about $179 per night midweek through Friday ... night). The rooms are small but extremely comfortable and very well appointed. The location is great: you're within walking distance of Robson Street, the West End, Gastown and Chinatown. There are great restaurants nearby; we particularly enjoyed Bin 921 (tapas) and Joe Fortes (although it was overpriced. Hint: don't order booze.) I'd go back to this place in a heartbeat. A quibble: although the staff is great, the concierge seemed in short supply.

Great room and service
Jim and Maureen Sep 14, 2009
Hotel Le Soleil compares well with any hotel in Vancouver. The suite we stayed in was beautiful, and (unlike many places we ... have stayed at) the temperature controls worked! Arriving hours before their official check-in time of 3:00 pm, our room was already ready, and check-in effortless. Later, their staff was very helpful in providing suggestions for places to go for sightseeing and dining. The hotel's location is easy walking distance to shopping and the ocean waterfront. My wife and I walked down to the shore, where we rented bicycles and rode on bike paths along the shore to Stanley Park. It's a great way to see the town and enjoy the weather. In summary, Hotel Le Soleil is more expensive than the Day's Inn (a block away), but well worth the money. Try it out!

Pleasant, quiet hotel, terrific location
Solo Bon Vivant Sep 9, 2009
I had a queen bed in a small suite -- and as others have pointed out, it's true that the sitting room portion of the suite is ... rather dark. But since I didn't spend much time there during the day, I wasn't bothered by it. More important to me was that the bedroom was quiet, with no noise from neighboring rooms. The bathroom was spacious and clean, and I felt comfortable at this hotel. The downstairs staff members weren't particularly polite -- desk attendants and doormen need to be better about greeting people as they come in, and as a single woman traveler, I felt slighted -- but I didn't require extra attention, so I can't say what the service is like overall. If the deal is right, the location of this small hotel is unbeatable. The seawall, Gastown, Robson Street, and the major transportation hub on Burrard are all within easy walking distance.

Well-situated in downtown Vancouver. Excellent service and our room was wonderful. No shuttle service - taxi from the ... airport was about $30. Walking distance to shopping, the park, Canada Place for cruises, etc. Plenty of restaurants close by that are open on the weekends (we were concerned because it is Vancouver's financial district). There is even an indoor mall and a pharmacy a block or two away. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Attended conference at Univ. of BC. Easy access via Bus or Ready access via Cab during rush hour. Staff was great. Hotel ... was perfect (Plenty of Hot Water, Quiet Rooms, Spotless room/lobby/elevator/hallway's. All the amenities you could ask for in a 4 star (with exception of the YMCA rather than in-house spa). Fantanstic food in multiple 1-3 block locations. Great location for the best in up-scale shopping.

Plan your dining experience for day and evening. You won't know how to chose one over the other. The price versus quality exceeds my home turf (San Francisco Bay Area). It may have been unfair that I had a local "foodie" guide.

City Visit
Fran Jun 18, 2008
This was a pleasure trip to Vancouver, followed by some time on Vancouver Island. The hotel was perfectly located. We could ... walk many places or take advantage of public transportation. The hotel was also exactly the right level of helpful and unobtrusive. When we needed assistance with anything from directions to getting a cab, they were right there and completely helpful. When we were just walking in and out, there was no one with a palm out or any other kind of interaction. The room was lovely. I had mistakenly booked two twin beds and they were incredibly accomodating when I asked that housekeeping re-make the beds together. In fact, it was clear that they knew what they were doing, because they laid extra blankets under the sheet to make the crease between the beds disappear. We did not eat at the hotel, so can't comment on the restaurant, but the apples and water bottles available at the front desk were a nice touch. The free wifi was also a great benefit. Strongly recommend.

I've stayed at this hotel a few times in the past. This stay was as memorable as all the other times. The staff was ... friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms were comfortable, the beds and the coverings, delightful. The bath and its 2 showerheads was great after a long day, out and about. I highly recommend this hotel, no matter what the occassion.

Cardero's along the waterfront is my absolute favorite restaurant in Vancouver. The food is always fresh, the prices are right and the wait staff is delightful. The place is very popular, so consider making reservations if you don't want to wait. Then again, it's worth the wait, and they have a bar you hang out in, in the meantime.

Hotel le Soleil was perfect for our conference weekend in Vancouver: close to the conference center and to places to eat and ... shop. Most important, our suite was beautifully appointed with every amenity, completely comfortable and quiet. It was a serene refuge at the end of long days of business. We ate in the hotel's restaurant and it was the best meal we had in Vancouver. Highest recommendation, and I wish there was one in every city we travel to.

Sandra Sep 25, 2007
Hotel Le Soleil was comfortable, has character, and is in a great location for walking...the great location also made cab ... rides inexpensive. The rooms are nicely appointed, if small. It was a tight fit between the end of the bed and the tv. The bathroom was nice, although shower only. The internet is free and on the 3rd floor. (The in-room hotel guide doesn't specify.) My only complaint is a small one..., I think it's chintzy to charge for extra coffee, even if it is only $3.00. Usually, there are expected amenities with hotels like this. They do provide coffee, but if you use it and would like more one day, it's extra.

From the time we checked in to the time we checked out, the staff was very friendly. The room was a suite with a queen-size ... sofa bed and TV in the sitting room. A queen size bed and TV was in the bedroom. The two rooms were connected by a hallway and the bathroom. The two TV's were great. There was not a bathtub in the bathroom, just a very large shower. The closet and minibar were in the hallway across from the bathroom. The staff were very helpful, when we asked for directions or made any request of them. We used the valet parking and never had to wait very long for them to retrieve our car. There were many restaurants within walking distance. It is also very convenient to an indoor shopping mall. We will probably stay here again the next time we visit Vancouver.

The Hotel is nicely located, and the staff is courteous, professional, and very helpful. We did not eat at the hotel ... restaurant. One night, though, we did stop in, late, for a drink and the bartender wouldn't fix a champagne cocktail for my wife because he didn't already have a bottle open. That was only a very minor annoyance, in an otherwise wonderful visit. We'll happily stay in this hotel anytime we return to Vancouver.
