weekend trip

The hotel is showing it's age and could use some updating...check in was interesting, the lobby doors are closed at 9p and check in is done through a window like paying for gasoline at a gas station and you had to put down a $30 deposit for a TV remote which you get back at check out, I have never had to do that before...house keeping was great the rooms were neat and very clean just a bit run down...Also, the swimming pool was unusable...hotel does has great freeway access and the location was great...However I don't think I will be staying at this hotel again...

Nice room, nice view

We started with a double room because our daughter was with us, but switched to a king room after one night. Definitely better to stay in one of the king rooms. They're much more spacious and comfortable and have views of the water. There is a nice bar and restaurant in the hotel. Parking was expensive, but there were car rental places nearby so you could theoretically get a car for only the days you need one and save a little that way. The location is a bit out of the way, but if you don't mind a healthy walk, you can get to Robson Street, the art museum, and Stanley Park without a car.

Nice hotel

We stayed at Coast Coal prior to departing for an Alaskan cruise. The hotel is close to the cruise ship dock and close to the Robson and Gastown shopping districts Everything was new and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Prestige is the restaurant and has a contemporary feel just like the rest of the hotel. The pool, hot tub and fitness center were all nice too.

Very helpful to injured skier

One of my daughters twisted her knee at Whistler prior to our visit to Vancouver. Staff were very helpful storing skis, handling lots of baggage, providing a wheel chair, and so on.

Nice stay at a nice hotel!

Staff was first rate. Asked several times for their recommendations for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Each restaurant was excellent. I wish that the rooms included a mini-refrigerator to keep cool liquids for our young son. The hotel was very modern and clean. Felt very safe because needed a room key to be able to operate the elevators.

Lovely hotel with great staff

Nice hotel in a good location. Just far enough away from the main area but everywhere can be reached in 10 mins walking. So good restaurants for breakfast or dinner are within 5 minutes walk. Staff are all very friendly and exceptionally helpful. Rooms are not massive but we're adequate for three of us. My only complaint would be the valet parking which is on the expensive side ... but all parking in Vancouver is the same. Our car didn't leave the car park for 5 days!

Try Carudos or the Cactus Club for a lovely dinner. You might need to wait at both though.
