"Nice" but not that nice

Hotel is in a great location for going to places in the "heart" of downtown Vancouver. The hotel was clean, reasonably comfortable and the decor was very modern or post modern in design. However, the room and the hotel in general looked like it was old construction. The doors and the paint had nicks and scratches throughout the hotel. The water faucet in the shower was old and looked like it was about to fall off the wall (screws loose). While showering, the water never stayed the same temperature and kept switching between hot and cold. Hallways smelled like an industrial chemical plant. In addition, I payed something like $170.00 to stay at this hotel. Considering the price paid, this place was a terrible institution. No roaches!

Good Downtown Hotel

We had a double studio room with full kitchen and mountain views. The room was large and clean with comfortable beds. The hotel reception, bar, restuarant and coffee shop were very modern and clean and the staff were very friendly. The hotel is near to the Skytrain Station and there is a bus stop just outside the hotel.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Visit Lynn Canyon as this is free and easy to reach on public transport. If visiting in the summer take a swimsuit as there is an excellent river pool.

Great time

Our room at Century-Plaza was large, with a small kitchen and sitting room. It was centrally located to many must see locations and was one of the stops for the Big Bus Hop on Hop off, which helped us see areas of Vancouver that were further away without having to take the car out of the garage. Service was great and our room had a view that was WOW.

Great Stay

Visited Vancouver with my two grandchildren and stayed two nights at the Century Plaza. We had a wonderful stay in the hotel. The reservation staff, front desk and cleaning staff were so helpful and thorough. Room was clean and spacious. Children enjoyed the pool. Location was excellent. Lots of assistance in locating tour and bus services. Would definitely return.

Nice Experience

[...] got a good rate for a central downtown location. It's a busy downtown and even on the upper floors there is street noise, so expect that. The room was very comfortable, not pretentious, or some might use elegant. My room had a wet bar, two queens and plenty of living room. I found the building to be old and well maintained. The help was great at the bar and restaurant and the check-in/out counter. Taxi service in downtown is great and fares are OK, $8 for a one mile trip to the Convention Center and Canada Place, taking ten minutes (in pouring rain). The dinner prices in the hotel restaurant are steep, >$23 for one entree, if there is not a special. I thought the dinner special was a good value, well prepared and plenty of food (three courses)for $27. Breakfast is a better value. I would definitely use this hotel again and be on the look for local restaurants in the vicinity.
