Very rude front desk clerk

Would not recommend Wed, Sep 9, 2015
Front desk clerk who helped my brother to check in was very rude. I overheard on the phone that he was yelling and so impolite. Very disappointed to be treated in that manner when you are tired with your travel and would be greeted in a very bad way.

Awful neighborhood, averaged hotel..

Would not recommend Wed, Jul 29, 2015
Vancouver is an expensive place, price was not too bad. But, Hotel is old, neighborhood is awful. Many kind of people, street walkers, homeless guys etc.. You cannot walk on the street when the day gets dark..

Make note

Would not recommend Wed, Jul 15, 2015
The hotel is located in a pretty unsafe area (we saw someone shooting up on the street on the way to the hotel). The hotel staff even tell you to avoid E. Hastings Street (the street on which the hotel is located). Also, the room is TINY. We're pretty sure that the bathroom used to be a closet. It even has a folding closet door as a door. This means that you can't fully close the door from the inside. The one bright spot is the restaurant downstairs. The food is good and reasonably-priced. They even give a discount if you're a guest of the hotel.

Great Experience

Would recommend Thu, Jun 25, 2015
I decided to take a chance in this Hotel while visiting for the Women's World Cup and to be honest I don't regret staying there at all. Yes the location is kind of sketchy but besides that great experience. It was so close to every location I wanted to go that I walked everywhere so that save me money. I would definitely stay there again. Staff was friendly and very helpful. If you are looking for a place where you will save money I recommend staying here.

weekend Trip

Would recommend Tue, Feb 10, 2015
The hotel met my expectations for the amount of money I paid, given the location to downtown vancouver. The rooms were quite small, but clean. The staff was friendly. The neighborhood is in a area with a number of homeless a block away and I did see one or two meth heads. There is a pub on the ground floor that has bands playing on some days. We spent most of the days exploring the city, so we didn't mind the accommodation. Depending on my friend, I would recommend the hotel.

My stay at Paticia

Would recommend Sun, Nov 2, 2014
Stayed 2 nights and booked lowest cost accommodations in city other than shared accommodations. Hotel staff professional and helpful.. good advice and knowledgeable and offered use of umbrella, directions to nearest TD bank, travel and more.. top notch service. Surprised to get continental breakfast.. and above what you would normally received.. boiled eggs, choice of cereals, choice of breads with toaster and jams, juices, coffee and more and offered without any fuss in nearby pub. Nearby pub offered good music, and good choice of food. Only complaint would be that of noise on Halloween night.. some noise from outside homleess and some ladies coming in with male friends if you know what I mean. First night no noise and slept like baby. Overall .. great value for the price and good variety of restaurants within 1 min walk of hotel. Bus stop nearby .. 10 second walk from hotel.. and got to downtown and airport quickly and affordably.. to airport only $4 total for bus and sky train. Lobby was nice, offered initernet which I used for a price and rooms had plenty of towels, soap, and water as hot if you wanted hot for shower. Would stay there again without any hesitation.

Money saver

Use city transportation rather than taxi.. taxi to airport about $45 from Patricia and only $4 for bus to downtown (bus every 5-7 min takes 10 min ) and about 1 min walk from bus stop to train and takes 15 to get to airport frond door by train. In fact travel anywhere in town at reasonably price.

Good experience

Would recommend Sun, Sep 14, 2014
As the name says it's a budget minded place so you must value it accordingly, the place is OK, the staff is very helpful, the neighborhood looks intimidating but nobody will mess with you and there is a bus stop a few steps or the hotel to/from downtown; I would come there in a next opportunity.

RETURNING FROM A CRUISE

Would recommend Wed, Sep 3, 2014
THE STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL. THEY ALLOWED US TO CHECK IN EARLY , AND TOLD US WHERE TO SEE THINGS AND HOW TO GET AROUND. THE LOCATION IS NOT THAT GOOD, BUT WE JUST WALKED ANOTHER WAY. THE PRICE WAS GOOD. THE BREAKFAST COULD BE BETTER.
