Apartment Hotel

This is a great hotel for travelers staying for more than a couple nights. We visit family and are usually there for at least a week. It is a small one bedroom apartment with full kitchen with dishwasher plus washer and dryer in the unit. The hotel restaurant isn't open for breakfast but if you go grocery shopping, all the dishes and untensils are there for you to use. There's also an electric faux fireplace that you can set to blow heat or not but you can enjoy the fake fire. My only gripe is that they need to upgrade to flat screen TV's from the current old CRT's. Their wireless internet is quick and reliable. There is bridge construction going on over the inlet to Vancouver not far from the hotel so if you have to go that way, plan extra time for the trip. There is no construction noise, however. If you are lucky enough to get a room on an upper, north facing floor, you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the north shore mountains on clear days.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

It is located next to Guildford Mall with Sears, Hudson Bay, WalMart and other major anchor stores. Lots of dining of any description close by. Moxie's, the hotel restaurant, is very good for lunch and dinner. Not much night life in the area, though.

Good choice

We stayed in this hotel for the Olympics. The price was outrageous, of course, but likely would have been a good value any other time of the year with regular prices. The bar, Moxies, is very good -- good service, good food, reasonable prices, convenient, and accessible to TVs, if you want them, or not, if you don't. The suite we had was huge. The kitchen was full-sized, and it had a real balcony (with a mountain view). The location is convenient to the SkyTrain, if you have a car (we did). Drive to the King George Station and park there, not at Surrey Central. The hotel also is about 1 block from a good-sized mall and is close to many fast food restaurants.

Couldn't Have been Better

We went to enjoy the Olympics and were traveling with our adult Son. We also had family to visit in the area so the location was perfect for us and the suite gave us the space and privacy that we needed. The staff was very freindly and helpful. The restuant attached was very good. It also was within walking distance to good shopping.
