Ironman weekend disappointing

This hotel is located close to the beach, good location. The temperature was 34 degrees celcius and common areas were not air conditioned, including the workout room. Fans were blowing extremely hot air around. Rooms were also not centrally air conditioned and took several hours to cool to comfort. The rate was high because the Iron Man Canada competion was on. This is to be expected. I left my room at 6:15 AM and returned after 11:00 PM to find the room hadn't been made up. When I enquired at the front desk, I was offered towels but not an expalnation or apology. When I asked for a rate reduction at check-out., I was declined but offered free breakfast (valued at $7.99 CAD). At $404 for two nights, this was disappointing and will not stay at this place next year.

OK hotel in a good location

Stayed in Sandman over a hockey tournament weekend. The location is very good, and facilities are well maintained. An extra point for the easy access to the trail by the canal, which was a nice to place to go jog. There is nothing out of the ordinary with this hotel itself, but most importantly nothing wrong either. The front desk people were very nice and helpful - they gave a GREAT first impression and welcome to the hotel. There is a compelementary WiFi, which is a plus. Also the work desk and chair provided a comfortable and productive work area. The bathroom was nice and clean, and the shower worked as it should (sometimes showers are a bit sketchy...). There were other hockey teams in the hotel at the same time, and it was still nice and quiet in the hallways.

The rooms are very small. The beds are uncomfortable as are the pillows. The hotel is old and worn and very pricey for what they offer.

Great Location, Great Staff

The Sandman in Pentictin was a great homebase for seeing the sites and enjoying the Okanagon region. The room was compact but had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the space well organized. The hotel staff was extremely helpful with directions and recommendations for excellent restaurants and activities. The pool in the atrium of the hotel was clean and quite enjoyable. I will stay here again when I go back.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Villa Rosa is a great Italian restaurant, make reservations, best restaurant award for 9 years in row. Went there twice. Across the street from Villa Rosa is a Japanese restaurant that was also superb! We had the lunch box, a variety of freshly prepared dishes, all mouth watering and wonderful. Reasonable prices, too.
