Heaven in the Canadian Rockies

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Post Hotel and are looking forward to returning the next time we are in Lake Louise. The location was perfect for us. It was not too far from hiking trails and was in walking distance of the Samson Mall (for cheaper meal alternatives) & the Lake Louise Railway Station Restaurant. We appreciated that this spot was less crowded than the Fairmont. The staff was attentive -- acknowledging our presence with a nod or "hello" or simply turning off the vacuum as we walked by. Our favorite part of the day was returning from a hike in time to partake of the complimentary tea/coffee time every afternoon. We lounged outside in the Adirondack chairs, enjoying the mountain view, and were served tea (and even had one of their delicious pastries). After the first day, we didn't even have to mention our tea preference as the staff remembered. The little touches added so much -- fresh fruit in our room, apples available at the desk, Lindt chocolates on the pillows with the turndown service, twice a day towel changes. We slept well every night in the comfy beds although there were a few wakeups as several trains pass close by during the night (but we fell right back to sleep).

Beautiful setting

My husband and I stayed at the Post Hotel in Lake Louise and absolutely fell in love with the place. It is set along a little brook, with beautiful red cottages dotting the premises. Our room had a balcony overlooking the brook. Our room was spacious, clean and had every amenity you would need for a wonderful stay. The restaurant was superb in its selections, with a nice selection of scrumptious entrees to choose from. If I were to go back to Lake Louise, this is where I would stay again.

The dining selection for dinner was superb with a varied menu to choose from. Extensive wine list, however, there is an inexpensive house wine to choose from also.

beautiful hotel

We had a gound level room on the front side of the building. Unfortunately, it was next to the parking lot and there was a busy railroad track on the other side of the parking lot. We had to deal with the parking lot noise and the steady stream of rr trains. If you stay there, be sure to get a room on the back side of the hotel.
