Great weekend

The staff were very helpful and the room was vey modern. The adjoining restaurant offered a buffet breakfast at a reasonable price. This was a bonus when travelling with children who are hungary and don't want to wait. Parking was somewhat difficult with a full size pick up truck but street parking is available.

Great View of the Rockies

Hotel is at the very end of town, a bit of a walk if you want a night out and no cab fares. The Maligne was clean, and very comfortable, but the best thing about it was the unbelievable views of the Rockies right at your front door. The restaurant was good, not too expensive and friendly staff, but the front desk people could brush up on a bit more customer service. Overall quite pleasant.

Nightlife tip: Long walk from hotel

Defintiely not in the centre of town, but a great mountain view makes up for this, and that's what you come to the Rockies for!!

ok, a little expensive

Room is ok, pretty standard motel. Was cheapest we could find at this location but still expensive. Beds were comfortable. Room was clean. It is a little noisy since next to the road and railroad. Also we could hear the TV in the next room. Internet didn't work in the room. Would lose signal every few minutes and extremely frustrating and slow. They advertise this, so beware. Problem with the shower. The cold valve was backward, opened clockwise, closed counter-clockwise. Hot water (which opened normally) was very hot so there was a risk of scalding. We told the front desk and they said it would be fixed over the winter. Also the diverter valve leaked wasting water. Finally the curtain was too short and it got the floor wet. No kitchenette in our room but there was a refrigerator.

Rip Off

The hotel appeared to be first class from the web site but boy was that false. This was a hotel is equivalent to a motel 6 in quality, in the heart of a glorious national park. The room was dirty, stains on sheets, chipped tile in the bathroom, light switches did not work, thin walls, and overall bad. This is fine if I am paying $40/ per night, but we were paying $180. There are many better places to stay here that we could see from our meandering through this special mountain town. Jasper is a great place don't spoil your trip by staying at the Maligne Lodge.

One night stay at Maligne Lodge

We were there only for one night. The room was clean and the little kitchenette was useful for our breakfast. Very small room, but fonctionnal. My only negative point is the guy at the front desk when we checked in. He barely looked at me when he was talking to me. He was talking very fast. He did not slow down when I asked him to repeat. That frustrated me. Besides that, good experience. We needed a place to sleep and we had a restfull night.
