over night from ca to visit family member

I love Westins (1st experience Pasadena), and was not disappointed with my Edmonton Stay. There was a bit of confusion with my bill--which was fixed when brought to staffs' attention. Overall, I will use the Westin in Edmonton for future trips.

Westin for Wonderland

Stayed at the Westin one night for a Boodang Massive ("Wonderland 2013") and was very pleased. Very reasonable rate, and a very nice room with modern decor. Staff were also very friendly. Will very likely be staying here again.

Downtown Edmonton

Good stay. Checked in early and checked out late with no problems at all. Staff were good to the kids. Room was spacious, with plenty of room for the crib.

Westin Edmonton - remodeling!

The hotel is in the middle of a remodel at the end of May 2010. Most of the lobby is inaccessible and the walls are in a shambles. They should be offer MUCH higher discounts to stay there now.

Very nice accomodation

The renovations are huge but did not affect my stay at all. I think that is a sign of great service!

Centrally located business base

Business trip. Tried to watch TV and ended up accidentally paying for a movie and internet connection which I did not use as I have an air card. TV was beside bed making it uncomfortable to watch while in bed. Fitness room was good. Breakfast was expensive at $5.5 for coffee, $5.5 for orange juice, $19 for coffee, orange juice and oatmeal.

Double charging

I booked my package (flight & hotel) through [...], the room charge was already charged on my credit card prior to my arrival and when I checked in, the hotel took my credit card info and charged me again (when I gave them the credit card - I thought they were just using it for security purpose). I had to call them to get the billing straightened out - they're quite responsive but I just wanted to point out that this is something that you may want to watch out for so that you don't get double charged.

First Class Hotel

This was a beautiful hotel in a great location! The staff were very patient and friendly, especially considering the Rodeo crowd that we learned were hosting there. It was right on the entrance into downtown, so getting around was very easy, we could walk to most locations, and it was a safe feeling area. You did have to pay for parking in the garage(26usd a nite), but that was easier than trying to find street parking. we got valet parking (28usd a nite), SO WORTH IT! you can go in/out much as you like, and they take care of your car. [...]The rooms were quite soundproof, and very large with updated interiors/appliances. The bed(!) was sooo big and super soft and pillowy! (My favorite part!) the windows also had a black out shade, which was great for sleeping in. there was also a mini fridge in our room which came in handy(no honor bar). Be warned, bring matches with you- the bathrooms have no fans. This seems the norm at hotels here in edmonton. there is no complimentary breakfast[...]. We stayed at the fantasyland hotel in a themed suite the night before for literally 3x the cost of the westin, and the westin was waay nicer, more comfortable, and just a much better experience. while it was a neat room at the FLH, the staff were not as friendly and it was not as updated. Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Dining and nightlife/entertainment are all within a few blocks of the hotel. There is a bar/restaurant in the hotel, but its a little pricey. The area the hotel is in is very nice, very clean neighborhood, so you're okay walking around. the valet's can get you a cab within minutes if needed, and they always had our car waiting and warm for us! There is a Ruth's Chris as well next door to the hotel, and lots of other dining options very close by. The shopping distance is a short cab ride away, I dont know if I would recommend trying to walk that distance.

A really very nice hotel. Clean, nicely decorated and very good facilities inside the room and out. Parking is a little pricey though.
